A Great big world - Say something ft. Christina Aguilera

Forget a break up

Have you ever been head in love with someone who wasn’t even your boyfriend?

With someone so emotionally unavailable?

A week’s crush turned into a full out blown love spell months later and the crazy thing is he had done nothing to lead her on.

Her own down fall had been her believing he could open his eyes one day and notice her. That he would bang on her door one morning and confess his love for her. That he could promise her the world when she only needed him

And notice her love for him, he did! And that is probably the biggest turn off for him

But this heartache is traumatizing. The single most depressing thing in her life, love isn’t meant to feel this way

And it wasn’t her fault for falling for the one person who would never love her back, but nor was it his fault for not returning her feelings.

It’s like her love for him grew by the day and it didn’t help that they worked right across the street from each other or that they shared the same friends. Meaning they hung out together. A normal person would minimize time spent with him but she couldn’t go a day without looking at his beautiful face

And it helped that he didn’t date, and the possibility of him probably dying alone was a serious matter but it put her at ease because it cleared up one thing: the problem wasn’t her

Theresia was cleaning the table by the window with a clear view of the place that King owned

“You know I might just report you for stalking at this point” Maria, her colleague said. “It’s seriously gone from creepy to crazy at this point” Maria commented. Theresia rolled her eyes annoyed

“I wouldn’t expect you to understand” Theresia sat down “Oh trust me I do. The only difference between us is that I did not punish myself for months. I walked away” Maria sighed “And it’s time to move on. Come on Theresia!” she continued to scold her

But Theresia just shook her head in denial “Have it your way, but just so you know on one can change a man who has sworn off love or any feelings at all”

“I know”

“Then it’s your funeral” Maria walked away. Theresia continued to stare out the window long after Maria left her there. All her friends basically say the same thing

‘He’s not the one for you’

‘He has no heart’

‘He is the real definition of danger zone’

‘Run’

And she never listens, so now they just stared at her whenever she showed up. First it was with sympathy but now with anger and despair.

Four hours later she delivered Jeff’s lunch, thank God he always ordered take away or she wouldn’t have a reason to stop by the place

“Oh look who is here. Miss desperation” Stella commented the minute Theresia walked in but she’s learned to avoid her “Took you long enough” Jeff approached her, the place was packed as always but she couldn’t see King anywhere “He’s out back, so you won’t find him here. Thank you for the delivery. You can go now” Stella made another rude comment

And she left

Her life is pretty miserable if anyone had not noticed. It revolved around someone who wouldn’t even give a shit about her

Theresia looked across the street trying to get a glimpse of King once she was safely back at work.

Her life pretty much sucks with a sprinkle of self-inflected heartbreak

The Café is literally the hangout spot so it was always packed, today was no different. Except they had an extra hand Theresia’s friend Stacey had gotten her cousin a job here. All Theresia knew about the so called cousin is that she studied abroad and she’s lived there for the past thirteen years and she’d been working here for the past week

So why exactly is she here? What is she running from? And why would she want to work here when she’s clearly too over qualified? Not that Theresia had anything against her, in fact she seemed like a lovely and polite person plus she is very beautiful

All the guys from across the street walked in and to her surprise and King was even with them. He rarely came here for anything. Her heart beating so fast in her chest Theresia made her way to their table

“Hi guys” she gave them a wide toothy smile “Theresia” Style winked at her. “Wie is die cherry?”who is the chick? Price pointed right behind her, she didn’t need to turn around to know who he is talking about. The guys were regulars, so if anything Price is obviously talking about the new girl.

“That’s Stacey’s cousin, I’m surprised you haven’t met her yet” Theresia frowned perplexed considering Stacey’s Jeff’s potential. Why is even Jeff here, didn’t he already have lunch?

“Well she’s coming over” Game said, Theresia looked behind her then. Why would she becoming over when she can clearly see that Theresia was here? “You must be Anastasia, Stacey’s cousin. We’ve heard a lot of things about you” Jeff said, they all pretty much smiled at her except for King of course.

Thank God

“All good things, I hope” she said “and please it’s just Star. Call me Star” she added politely “As in the stars in the sky?” King asked, Theresia couldn’t help but notice that they held each other’s glaze for a couple of seconds too long “Exactly like that” she quickly took out her tiny note book and pen “I’ve got this table” Theresia was super annoyed by now

“I’m sure you do, but I got assigned this side of the Café and besides Maria just insisted that I come over just a few seconds ago. I’m sorry”

Damn you Maria. Theresia hoped she masked her face because she knew she could hardly contain her temper on the inside

“We wouldn’t want you to get fired for not following orders now would we” Theresia said bitterly and walked away

She couldn’t help but watched Star make little to no conversation with the guys, she was all business like and polite with them. Got them whatever they ordered and quickly faded away.

Theresia was busy cleaning a table on her side of the Café when Style approached her while his friends walked out “Hey” he said, she stood straight and faced him “Hi”

“So listen, I’m throwing a party at my place. You should stop by for a while” he said, she tried to come up with an excuse as to why she wouldn’t make it “Come on it is a Friday night. It starts at nine” he winked at her before walking away from her

Theresia’s initial plan when she knocked off work three hours later was just stay at home and avoid anything that had to do with being in the same room as Stella

But thirty minutes in, after taking her shower the Tv had nothing interesting plus day dreaming about King got tiring too. The same old cycle, so she got all dressed up and decided she would go to the party after all

Three reasons why

A, she’d be too drunk to worry about Stella

B, she’ll probably be drunk enough to finally confront King

C, she would drink hard liquor that she can’t afford

Most of all she’d get to see King, those gorgeous brown hazel eyes. He had this creamy light brown tattooed skin , gorgeous hair that he always had done, whether he had a backward ponytail with a fade, box braids with an undercut or even when he left his curly top with a burst fade and neck design

Definite talk of the town. There wasn’t a girl who didn’t want him, and boy did she want him all for herself.
