Chapter 1
This story I am about to tell is one of the scariest events I have ever lived through. Even though my years as a soldier even hitting the beaches at Normandy. and later being a detective both for the Military and the Chicago police force. This Night will always be with me. But let me bring us to the start of this Adventure. It was three weeks after me and Robbins Brought in Michael Simmons. Me, McClode and Martha colt were on a small boat sailing to a small island where all three of us were invited to. I looked up to see a dock coming into view and I saw a man standing there with a rain jacket. He was waiting for us. As we pulled into the dock, he said hello “There Men and who are you young lady?” Martha said, "I am Jack’s younger sister" he nodded his head than looked at us than said “My name is Elijah Benoit the Butler to Owen Cruz” and he smiled. I said "Owen Cruz? The Homeless man who found the Golden Eye of Senwosret II all those years ago?" And he said, “Yes he was and after that day he bought this island a year after it happened” And then he asked, “Oh I forgot where Jack colt? I know his sister is here but not him”. I told him that he was murdered a few years ago but his sister has decided to join us in his place. Elijah Benoit said, “ah Ok Please follow me” As we walked up the path to the mansion that was used to be an old prison that the redcoats used during the revolutionary war. When we got to the door the storm was just rolling in and it was coming down Hard. The maid was a mid-aged woman. Her name was Elly she said, “ah your back and you brought our guest for the Night”. As we walked in, I saw a man in his mid-fifties. He stood there Like the rest of us, and I said, "hello my name is Jackson Ryder what is yours?". He said “I’m Nick Washington. I was the Cook on the Sea for Yourself”. I said "that was a funny name for the ship" then I heard the phone start to ring. I looked for the Butler and the maid, but they must have stepped out. So, I walked over, and I picked up the phone. I said "hello" and the man on the phone asked, “if Mr. Cruz was there?”. I said I don’t Know but I will take your message for him, and he said, “Ok but first I would like to have your name”. I said, "Okay I’m Jackson Ryde". he said “ah hello detective. This is detective Harris. I am with your partner Robbins, and we found the body of Arthur Taylor. He was a museum curator, and he had an invite to something with this phone number and name of cruz”. I said "I knew him. He used to be my boss a long time ago" but as I was talking Benoit walked back into the room and I asked, "how did it happened?" He said he was in a car crash, and he didn’t survive. I said thank you. I will tell him once I see him, I hung up the phone. Benoit asked me who was that I said it was the message to Owen Cruz. As we were talking captain Griffin and another man walked. He said, "sorry sir The storm is too bad I cannot get back to the mainland for the last of our invited guest."
