Summary

If anything bad is going to happen, it will inevitably happen to me. My name is Rose. I'm a single mom of two. I was emotionally abused by ty ex. My parents divorced when I was a kid, and still can't get along. My dad practically abandoned us. My brother ditched the family and cut us off. Even my ex decided he wasn't meant for family life and left. I lost count of the number of car accidents I have been in, not a single one was my fault. I live with permanent after effects, pretending to be normal so those around me don't live my pain with me. I am a good actress at this point. To the outside world, I've got it together. To my kids, I'm the number one mom. To my students, I'm the teacher that has their back. My closest friends see through it, they were a gift from God. They are my anchors. I'm not worth more than that anymore. I'm too broken. Then the world shrank. I have a new neighbor. One who is there every time I turn around, every time I need saving. He's broken too. He retired military, recovering from an ugly divorce, and trying to start again. I try to ignore the attraction, but someone keeps putting him in my path. Maybe I'm not too broken afterall. *While not all of this is true. Rose is based off a real person. Her background, her feelings, her struggles, are all real.
