In shadows deep, where torment dwells,
A haunting specter, its story tells,
Complex PTSD, a tempest wild,
A wounded soul, forever exiled.
Beyond the veil of simple strife,
Lies a realm where scars run rife,
Where traumas layer, intertwine,
As shards of pain, they intertwine.
A battle fought, within the mind,
Where memories cruel, unkind,
They linger, seep into each pore,
Creating storms that forever roar.
Unlike its kin, this beast untamed,
Complex PTSD, it stands unnamed,
For wounds it carries, deep and wide,
Are born from depths no words can hide.
The echoes of past, they haunt and taunt,
Relentless whispers, a constant haunt,
Each trigger a landmine, waiting still,
To shatter peace, against one's will.
Flashbacks dance, in vivid hues,
Replaying scenes, with no excuse,
The past and present, fused as one,
A never-ending battle, never done.
Anxiety, a cruel companion,
Claws of fear, an iron canyon,
Hyper-vigilance, an eternal guard,
A soul encased, forever scarred.
Sleep, elusive, a distant friend,
Nightmares seize, and never mend,
Insomnia's grip, a relentless chain,
Weary eyes, that weep in vain.
Relationships, a fragile dance,
Trust and closeness, a risky chance,
For boundaries blurred, and trust betrayed,
Complex PTSD, its price is paid.
But amidst the darkness, a flicker of light,
Resilience emerges, a valiant fight,
For in the depths of this tangled maze,
The spirit endures, ablaze with grace.
With therapy's touch and healing's balm,
A glimmer of hope, a soothing calm,
Supportive hearts, that lend their might,
Together, the battle, we shall ignite.
For those who bear this heavy load,
Complex PTSD, its path untrode,
Know you're not alone, nor weak, nor small,
In the face of this beast, you still stand tall.
And as we gather, hand in hand,
Let empathy and understanding expand,
To shine a light on the unseen plight,
Of those who battle in the dark of night.
May compassion guide our every stride,
As we navigate this turbulent tide,
For in unity's embrace, we'll find,
The strength to heal, restore, realign.
