how it begun
Niu has always loved Mr. Wang's stories ever since she was a little girl. She was even good at deciphering which one was true, and which was just a myth. But there was a story, one he never told: The Stone
opening of the story: chapter one:
As Niu walked around outside the abandoned store, the October wind blew her long black hair; this had to be the right place, she reasoned as she peered inside the store again, but the old bent looking boxes packed in a pile were not much help.
It has been so many years since she last saw him. Niu's life has not been easy; when she was old enough to leave her foster home, she made it her mission to find Mr. Wong. She wanted to know about this beautiful colored rock she had found so many years ago, and she was not leaving till she got answers. Hey, who knew it could be worth a lot overall?
Looking at her wristwatch, knowing that the time was more than three hours off, she could tell that it was no later than nine at night, but Niu was too stubborn to move. She needed to see Mr. Wong.
The streetlights suddenly appeared on, and she knew it was late. that's when she heard the doors seeing the woman as she locked the doors, not wanting to look suspicious, Niu waved at the woman as she hurried down the dark path of the sideway.
Niu waited another minute or so before reaching into her hair and pulling out a bobby pin. Looking around to make sure the coast was clear; she picked the lock satisfied when she heard a click looking around once more before entering.
the sound of heavy rain came from nowhere, leaving Niu puzzled.
not giving it a second thought, she being to feel for some sort of light, as she was feeling around her hand came across that felt like a pin, grabbing it she held it to the light that shined throw the outside, looking around, she searched for a lamp or light, thinking twice before she decided to switch it on.
the light and that's when she saw white jade pin. She could have sworn she lost that pin a long time ago. Who would have thought that it would have been here at the store the whole time?
securing it in her bra, she went back looking for the switch all thoughts aside when all the lights came on in the store, shocking Niu in place.
Oh my God.! She scanned the place for somewhere to hide but it was impossible, and this left her with one option, placing her hands in the air, Niu closed her eyes as footsteps approached.
She was ready for whatever was coming to her, raising one leg up with arms spared like a bird. 'I'm warning you, I'm a black belt,' she stated, but the only problem was that was over ten years ago, and she would loss if it came to a real fight.
