The dark curse

‘When the elements converge around the crystal table's gleam, Then shall the castle ascend, a beacon in the night's dream.

When darkness yields and retreats in fright, Only then shall salvation's dawn ignite.

Fire, Earth, water, and air, in unity's embrace, Shall merge, devouring evil's lingering trace.

From their union, harmony shall rise, A prophecy fulfilled before our eyes’

The waves of the blue shimmering sea gently hit against the port, the mermaids of the Shimmering Sea sang in harmony.

The birds flew, creatures of all kinds lived in peace, the villagers danced and laughed; the smell of cakes, stews and pies filled the air of the village. It's stone walls just covered by the dark ivy vines that are wrapped around the stones of the wall. The people were happy and joyful, towering this village was the castle of elements or known as the castle of the four Brothers.

The first Brother, Darius known for his fearlessness and fierceness, possessed the ability of Fire and was protected by a Phoenix, the spirit of Fire.

The second Brother, Flynn known for his childish yet calming nature, possessed the ability of Air; protected by a Macaw, the spirit of Air.

The third Brother, Felix known for his kind and caring nature, possessed the ability of Earth; protected by a Deer, the spirit of Earth.

The fourth Brother, Casimir known for his short temper and impulsive nature, possessed the ability of Water; protected by a Hippocampus, the water spirit.

The brothers ruled in harmony, until the Fourth Brother became reckless and more impulsive, no longer listening to his other Brothers; creating a war between them all. With this war came a fifth Brother, Colburn who possessed the ability of Darkness, protected and empowered by the panther a spirit of darkness.

With this darkness came war, chaos and disharmony. With the Brothers at war with each other the kingdom grew dark, cold and the castle that was once a symbol of harmony, collapsed and crumbled; creating thick fog making it impossible to escape. The crumbled castle became hidden behind tall snow covered mountains. A dark shadow casted over the village, a castle built of fear and despair and cursing the kingdom into pure darkness.

The once gentle waves became savage and the mermaids songs caused ships to crash against knife like rocks that stick out like icebergs. The creatures and birds fled and hid from the vicious beasts that now roam and the villagers no longer dance and sing; the village only now smells of smoke, making the air unbreathable. The ivy that covered the walls of the village became thorns.

The nearby villages choose to stay away from that village and call it ‘The Cursed Village of Shimmer Sea’ or it’s true name which everyone fears to speak …Aphedian.
