Ilusions

We are in the middle of the school year, normally it is rare to see new students joining the classes, however there was never a shortage of latecomers.

Too late.

In just half a year I accomplished many things. One of them is to become captain of the cheerleading team, a little intimidation and persuasion to the other members paid off. Of course, of all I am the most talented.

Being the captain I reached a new level of social status within the school. I am the most popular girl in SJMS, the suitors did not wait and everyone wanted to have a chance with me. Everyone follows me like they're under a spell, to tell the truth I'm not complaining about the attention I get.

However, for some reason I find this... Boring? I mean, it's satisfying to see how they'd be willing to do anything for you, yet it takes the fun out of it completely. No one is on my level to go out with me, that's the point.

I sat in one of the seats in the classroom, class would soon begin and several students were entering. I checked my phone disinterestedly, first thing in the morning we had chemistry class which is quite tedious, at least Marcy was my classmate and she had a good grade assured.

Marcy was one of the latecomers, she looked really bad, she had bags under her eyes like she hadn't slept in five nights, she heavily sat down next to me dragging her feet. I couldn't even ask as she buried her face in her desk, the next thing I heard was snoring.

That girl must stop staying awake for playing video games, one of these days she will end up killing her.

There were murmurs in class, everyone was waiting impatiently in their seats as if something was about to happen, what am I not aware of?

The door opened suddenly and a girl with curly hair peeked out, she wasn't wearing her school uniform, she was wearing headphones and she saw the number on the door again. Something that caught my attention was her eyes, she had a carefree look, as if she didn't care that she was late, luckily her teacher wasn't there yet either. She walked in confirming that this was her classroom, she sat at the back of the room and pulled out her phone ignoring the others around her.

Who was that girl?

Who changes schools in the middle of the year?

Why am I asking myself so many questions if I don't know who she is?

I must admit that selflessness piques my curiosity, that is, a mysterious girl who appeared out of nowhere and doesn't seem to be from here. She also didn't seem interested in socializing with anyone in particular. I can get something good out of it, things start to get interesting.

She asked me if...

Suddenly everyone was silent, the teacher had entered with considerable delay, I moved Marcy's shoulder insistently to wake her up but she was knocked out, nothing could make her open her eyes once and for all. I tried several times, but that girl really needed a break.

The teacher apologized for not arriving on time, she went on to name several students by taking roll, after everyone had indicated her presence, someone else was missing.

"And finally... Anne Boonchuy?"

She raised her hand from her seat, she didn't say a word, my attention towards her grew, I felt I should have her on my side. It's still too early to tell, but she's probably similar to me. She will be easier to control if she got ahead of me first.

...

A week passed since the new one arrived, she joined the tennis club and it was evident that she had experience in it.

The only thing I didn't take into account was one important factor: Marcy. For some reason those two connected instantly, shared more classes together and had time to get to know each other better.

I saw everything from afar, like a spectator. Or rather, like a predator hunting her prey. I've bumped into her in the corridors, we haven't spoken at all, we don't know each other, but my interest grows more and more.

I saw some of her matches and... I admit that her physical performance is not bad at all, she counterattacked her rivals with everything, without losing grace and style. Regardless of whether she was exhausted or drenched in sweat, she never failed to look great.

I think too much about that girl without meaning to. Even if I try to forget her, I can't do it. It's amazing how she makes someone as arrogant as me smile.

She finished tying my laces, in a few minutes I had to go out again, I took a bottle of water from my locker and sat on a bench.

She was still panting noticeably, in a few minutes he should be back from break anyway. I took a few sips of water until someone came in making a racket.

"Sasha! Sasha! Sasha! Sasha!"

She came running, by a miracle she doesn't trip and she stamps her face against the dirty floor. I instantly recognized who she was from her voice, her tone so high-pitched and lively that it set her apart from the others.

She stopped in front of me, she had an overside shirt and a gorra backwards with the team's acronym. Marcy liking sports? That's new. His breathing was uncontrolled, he put his hands on his knees trying to catch his breath.

“Marbles, you shouldn't be here. We are in the middle of a match.

"Look! "

She showed the screen of her phone and it was the number of a contact, she had it added as "Anna-Banana💛". I frowned obvious and she smiled at me.

"And what am I supposed to see?"

"Anne gave me her number! She's so funny, she said she really liked me. "

"The new one? How did you become friends with her so quickly?"

She shrugged her shoulders innocently, I could see the happiness that radiated in each of her words. She wasn't happy, but she wasn't upset either. I was more in the middle, inside of me I knew there was something else behind that.

She noticed my disgruntled expression, it's like she was trying to read my body language and how I received the news, which she completely misunderstood.

"Don't be jealous Sash, you will always be my number one. "

"I'm not jealous. I don't know where you get that from." she snorted, amused.

She ignored what I said and she stayed focused on the mobile, I noticed that I had a few minutes to go back to my work as captain.

"If that's all, you should go. If they see you in the cheerleading locker room they will punish you. "

"Mhm... Actually, there's something else."

I looked at her in confusion, got up from my seat and put my hands on her waist. He already knew where the situation was going.

"What happened? Did someone bother you? "

"No, is not that. It has to do with her. "

"Speaks. "

"Well…I want to do a movie marathon with Anne and she was wondering if you wanted to go too."

She played with her fingers and intertwined them as she explained her plan, averting her eyes and keeping a nervous expression, I honestly wasn't thrilled by the idea.

I heaved a sigh and shook my head.

"I doubt he wants to spend the weekend watching nerd movies, I'd better pass. "

I turned my back on her and walked about to leave to continue with my duty, she took me by the arm and prevented me from continuing on my way.

“W-Wait! "

I stopped and looked at her with annoyance, she looked embarrassed for stopping me. She kept her grip on my arm like she didn't want to let go.

"Actually... She wants you to go. She asked me that she invite you. "

Did she want to see me? To me?

She doesn't know me at all, it's ridiculous that she wants to see me. In this week only the two of them have interacted, maybe Marcy has told her about me or she knows me by my reputation. It doesn't make sense anyway, it gave me a bad feeling.

I was about to say something when one of the girls from the team made an appearance, she called me that she had to go out again. I could tell that Marcy was waiting for an answer, I relaxed my expression and let out a sigh.

"Good. I will go. "

I hugged euphoric, my body was stiff and one of my arms had not been caught by her hug so I responded by stroking her back.

We say goodbye to each other and he wishes me luck.

Yeah right.

...

I didn't know if my dignity was at risk or not, I mean of course I want to meet her, I feel like there's something about her that makes me want to.

I have never been put in this situation before, I am the one who makes others anxious, not the other way around.

I'm standing in front of Marcy's front door, being an idiot. I mustered up the courage and rang the doorbell of the home, a rumble was heard inside, moments later Marcy opened the door welcoming me.

When I saw her I could see that she had fallen, I don't know if I should laugh or make fun of her. Perhaps a little of both. Out of respect I didn't, I went into the house and Marcy invited me to go to the living room.

Very good Sasha, you are going to confront a girl that you have seen a few times but have never interacted with and you have spied on her tennis practice.

It's easy, isn't it?

To my surprise, the room was empty, which calmed my nerves quite a bit.

My first thought was that I was early or I hadn't arrived yet. It was advantageous and opportune for me.

Confident I sat on the sofa, my eyes went straight to the TV that was already on but no movie was in progress. Next to me was the control, before I could get comfortable Marcy interrupted.

"Anne is in the kitchen, do you want to say hello? "

Definitely not.

I was going to stay on the couch as if nothing was happening, a natural reaction. I made a sign with my arms that was a resounding "no". Which was in vain as footsteps could be heard approaching.

There was no need to say more since she appeared in front of my eyes. She was wearing a casual outfit and with her hair tied up, she looked so simple yet so... Alluring?

A tickle was present in my stomach, she left me completely silent. That would not let her guard down, I cannot show that she interests me or that she managed to have an effect on me.

She looked at me disinterestedly, brought a drink and took a small sip, maybe it was coffee since it was in a cup. The three of us looked at each other without knowing what to do, we were together but it wascomfortable with the fact that we didn't know each other that well.

If it had been just Marcy and I we could handle it, but with Anne thrown into the mix it was bound to be weird for all of us.

Should we greet each other?

Shake hands?

hug us?

ignore us?

Time doesn't stop and if we don't do something soon it will be even more uncomfortable. I am a sociable person, this type of thing does not happen to me often but there are times when you do not know what to say or how to act.

Marcy cleared her throat a bit to break the ice, maybe she'll save us from this.

"Well... I guess you already know each other, right?"

We exchanged a confused look, she looked at me from head to toe, I don't know what is going through her mind but I don't know she needed to be very intelligent to know that I am superior in every way. She will have to use all my charms, at the end of the day she is just a guest here. It's like... the third wheel? It may sound cruel to say it like that, but it was the truth, in this territory only one could govern and I was not going to let myself be defeated by her presence.

I forced one of my best smiles and put on my friendliest face possible. I even raised my voice to make her feel comfortable.

-No. " I started. "But we could start right now, what do you think?"

I took a more relaxed posture and I settled in better, I placed myself in the Indian position and moved aside so that she would sit with me on the sofa, the girl was looking at me as if she wanted to kill me but who was more excited by the idea was Marbles .

"That's great! We will all be friends! "

She didn't seem to notice the recent rivalry between Anne and me, her innocence like a breath of fresh air that lacked basic understanding for this kind of situation. Someone else in his place would have instantly noticed, somehow easing the tense atmosphere.

Pleased, she pushed Anne down next to me, she ran to the kitchen for snacks and was back in a matter of seconds with popcorn, drinks and candy.

She settled in between us, at least that way we didn't have to have a real conversation. They put on a random movie and the afternoon of marathons began, those two wouldn't stop chatting as if there were no tomorrow. More than anything, it was Marcy who did much of the talking, while Anne just listened to what she had to say.

At one point they began to debate in the middle of the film. Ugh, those two are such for which.

Though I guess I underestimated Anne from the start. She wasn't the third wheel, she's actually me. But this would not stay like this, she would face her once and for all.

"I'm telling you, Anne, in the book none of this happens. I wish they had left it the way she was. "

"Really? I haven't read the book, still you shouldn't downgrade the movie like that. "

“Definitely the book is a hundred times better. And above all, they don't change the villain, the one they put in now isn't even scary. He also has no real reason to do what... "

She knew that when Marcy started talking like that, she was eventually going to start rambling. I interrupted her by touching her shoulder making her jump, she looked at me and pointed to my empty glass.

"Mar-Mar, can you get me more soda? I'm so thirsty. " I lied and placed my hand on my neck faking a scratchy voice. She got up leaving the control on the sofa and before she could go to the kitchen I stopped her. "Oh, and if you can bring more popcorn." I added innocently.

"Whatever you say, Sasha!"

I leave the living room, the movie was still playing but on low sound, honestly it was pretty boring but I hadn't been able to share my opinion with the two nerds I have with me as they would burn me alive. Speaking of nerds, there's one who looks at me like I'm trash.

Pfff, who do you think you are?

A frown was clearly seen on her face, it's funny to see her upset. Should I keep bothering her? I don't know what I did to put it like that, you need to give me a lot of explanations.

"Okay, we're alone now."

I tried to make eye contact with Anne avoiding my gaze, instead she looked elsewhere as long as she didn't see my face. What an annoying girl, she asks me to come here and now that we have time to talk she decides to ignore me. I am losing the patience.

"Are you mute only with me? If you want I'll call Marcy so you can talk to her, surely with that you have the courage to move her fucking mouth. "

She turned to see me offended, her eyebrows were furrowed and somehow she was tense, it was reflected in her facial expressions. Maybe if I was rude, I admit it, however I will not apologize for that. It's like she wasted my time on purpose.

"I won't talk to you. "

She crossed her arms in annoyance, but it doesn't make sense! The one who should be upset should be me, this girl just makes me lose my temper completely. We sat end to end to avoid having any kind of bodily closeness or the simple act of exchanging glances. She crossed her arms too and I snorted.

"Fuck off. " I muttered under my breath, whichor was it enough since he seemed to have heard it.

"They're right what they say about you, you're a manipulator. "

"Excuse? "

She has a lot of courage to talk to me like that, that girl's days are numbered.

"What you heard. "

This time she turned to see me, daring me to lower myself to her level but she couldn't allow me to do that. She was nobody, I worked hard to get my status so that someone lower than me would talk to me as she pleased. To be honest, if it were her for me she would have kicked him right there. She so she would learn to shut her mouth like before.

Try to think logically, she's no match for me, if I'm lucky and intelligent I can put her on my side and she won't even notice. I must show him the part that suits me best.

"Why do you think that? "

My tone of voice was much calmer, as if I didn't care what she said. That took her by surprise, she winced, she seemed to have backed down a bit. She avoided looking at me at all costs, her nails clinging to her pants.

“Many say that you are scary, that you intimidate and use others to your advantage. And I believe it too. "

I made a mock reaction of astonishment, not so exaggerated as it would be obvious. I tried to make eye contact with her, I needed to convince her otherwise. I put myself in a position where we could be face to face without being able to avoid each other.

"Really? It is quite curious. I think she uses others for her own convenience. "

I placed my hand on my chin feigning disinterest, Anne was confused as if she hadn't understood my hint.

"What? "

"Well, it's just my guess, but if I'm right... You used Marcy to get close to me, right?"

Anne froze. Her mouth was open as if she couldn't believe what she is hearing. She was quick to deny it, but after this had been going on for a long time it was obvious that he hadn't approached her by chance or out of interest.

"It is not true. "

"You only give yourself away, it makes sense if you think about it that way. As you share more classes together, you were able to find out what she liked to make her your friend, pretend sympathy and closeness to end up here. Sitting next to me pretending to have higher morals than mine, but surprise; it's not like that. " I told it super relaxed, Anne seemed to want to bury herself underground. She looked very pale and she started to tremble, that selfless and confident girl now looked like a trapped and worried girl.

From the beginning she gave me a bad feeling, I guess I hit the nail on the head. Too bad Marcy was used to this kind of thing, she was really happy to have found a new friend to share her nerdy likes with, but that's the way the school world works.

"If you did all this to get closer to me, then congratulations." There was a certain cynicism in my voice, Anne did not say a single word. Embarrassed, she had her head down as if she had committed a crime. "To tell you the truth, it's the craziest thing they've ever done to get an ounce of my attention. You have done very well, I even feel flattered. "

My comment didn't seem to have an effect on her, she said it to provoke some reaction apart from fear and anguish. How pathetic.

What she did was bad, but it wasn't that serious. As I thought, she has certain similarities with me but I never imagined that she would go this far just to talk to me. I have never dated someone similar to me, it is possible that our personalities clash but the result will be satisfactory.

"You will tell her? "

"To Marcy? No. "

"I do not want to say... "

She couldn't continue talking as Marbles appeared with a big smile on her face, in her hands she was carrying an overload of junk food and the drink I ordered.

"Girls! I hope I haven't been too late. Here she brought more food in case they were hungry and she also brought Sasha more soda. "

The smile of hers that lit up even the darkest rooms faded. I guess she saw us with a very serious face as if something had happened, Anne obviously wouldn't dare to speak and because of the embarrassment, she wasn't able to face her actions. I had to intervene to save the situation.

"Thank you Mar-Mar!" You're the best. "

I smiled back at her and that might have made her happy, at least it didn't ruin her mood. She put what she brought on a table near the TV and handed me a glass of soda, she sat down with us again and covered herself with the blue blanket from the cold of the air conditioning. She leaned her head on Anne's shoulder and continued to watch the movie.

Despite everything, Marcy trusts Anne and that will not change. In a way, it makes me sick to my stomach to think that Anne won her trust through trickery and lies. But it is something that I could perfectly have done too, it makes me have a little more consideration for it.

...

The sound of shuffling shoes echoed in my ears, even with a headset in my ear I heard all the noise pollution the high school students made. I was going through my belongings looking for a lipstick, luckilyI found it for you and put it in my bag.

I felt a presence behind me, I close my locker and I'm surprised to see it there. She standing in front of me, her hair messy and skin sweaty including her pink racket. She was panting a little, I guess I didn't hear it coming from her and I said the first thing that came to my mind.

"Wow. You look horrible. " I smirked, Anne frowned in response.

"Ha ha. Very funny. " She replied sarcastically. She passed her arm across her forehead with the sweat still pouring down, she was perspiring noticeably and was wearing her tennis uniform. She didn't have to be very smart to know that she had recently finished practice. "Can I speak to you? "

Those words were never a good sign, I took the hearing aid out of my ear and put it in my pockets. I looked at her for a few seconds, I took her wrist with authority, at first she seemed nervous and surprised by the action but she didn't say anything about it either.

"Not here. Let's go to the other side. "

She nodded at my answer and let me take her with me. I had thought about getting out of school first but if the teachers find out I'll get in trouble. Besides, I was intrigued by what he could tell me, although I don't expect much anyway.

In the end we decided to go to the high school playground, at this time there is no one since most of them are in their extracurricular classes or in classes. It was a cloudy day and the roof was halfway open to be able to see the sky clearly, I let go of her wrist and turned to see her.

Those impatient brown eyes caused me a certain impact, even looking disheveled she had that charm that I couldn't resist. Anne's mouth was open, she looked like she was going to start speaking but she raised my open hand.

"Waiting. "

I stopped her, pointed to a device behind her. It was a beverage dispenser. She looked at me several times as if she didn't understand what she wanted. Ahg, do I have to be so obvious? After seeing it a couple of times she seemed to understand what she was implying, annoyed she went over to buy me a drink.

"What obsession do you have with soda drinks?" she murmured annoyed, I pretended not to hear her, after all she owed me.

After I paid for it, she handed me a pineapple soda, I don't like the taste but she didn't complain either. I leaned against the wall and opened the drink to start savoring it, after a couple of sips I turned to look at her.

"And good? "

I took another sip of my drink and went to grab it with just my other hand. Anne bit her lower lip and she looked away but you could tell she was making an effort to formulate a sentence.

Sorry. "

"I think you got the wrong person, you don't have to apologize to me. "

“I know, I plan to tell Marcy the truth soon. She worries me how she is going to react to her. "

I could see that concern on her face, she had a fearful expression and downcast eyes, perhaps at first she was for convenience but it was clear that she had no bad intentions after all. I let out a sigh, I placed my hand on her shoulder making her face look better. Deep inside her, she knew that I probably used myself to make her feel better and take the weight of responsibility off her, if that was what she wanted to hear, I had no choice.

"Hey, don't worry. You just need time. That's it. "

She gave me a half smile, scratching the back of her neck and looking thoughtful. I don't know if this is the real Anne that appears before me, now I have much more intrigue than before to know more about her. The pretty sportswoman next to me has a special charm, despite what she may appear on the outside she is still attractive.

"Also…" she scratched her cheek lightly, her voice soft and shy. “Marcy told me you were captain of the cheerleaders. That you were very good. "

"That's how it is. Also, I'm the most popular girl in the whole school. " I said with an air of grandeur, I took a small sip of my drink "And what about you? I know you changed schools and you play tennis. "

"Well, Mom and Dad said the change of scenery would do me good. And here I am. "

I am not at all convinced with that answer, in my opinion he is lying. No father changes his son in the middle of the year for a "change of environment" his excuse is too poor. Nor did it justify his exclusionary attitude towards others, it was evident to me.

"I figured you weren't the sensation at your previous school."

"Me? They all died for me. They even lined up to be with me. "

I couldn't help but laugh because of that, it was true that she was pretty but she doesn't have the personality, maybe she does have potential but she doesn't take advantage of it properly. Anne crossed her arms as if she was offended and puffed out her cheeks.

"Hey! Do not laugh! " Anne yelled.

“I really don't know where you come from, but you don't know what it's like to be acclaimed. " I wiped away a fake tear and resisted the urge to laugh again.

"Oh, what about you?"

"Of course. Everyone falls for me, even you. "

"Pfff, that's not true. " she hastened to deny the facts.

Everyone says that what I'm about to do may be too late for you later. When you try to escape you won't be able to, supplicate you will face at my feet that I let you go.

"Do you want to bet? "

From here the real fun of her begins, I could notice the surprised expression of her although hidden from her, she did not expect that she would make that proposal but she seemed a determined girl unwilling to stay behind her. I offered her my hand so that we could shake hands, she found me expectant and internally very excited.

"Let's do it."

We join hands in a handshake, maybe now she's sure what he's doing but he doesn't have the slightest idea. I smiled instinctively, he never participated in a hopeless game, here is no exception either.

"Neither of the two can fall in love with the other, whoever does loses. I warn you that once you accept, there is no going back. "

"I won't regret it, you'll see."

"Perfect. "

I stopped leaning against the wall and took a few small steps to the nearest trash can, throwing away my still unfinished soda. I kept my posture relaxed and somewhat stooped, at that moment I felt quite satisfied since everything was going in the right direction. He felt a kind of self-fulfillment, yet he knew he couldn't let his guard down with her. To my luck, he doesn't know the effect he's having on me, but I won't let him ruin my plans.

From the day you arrived, I always knew what he had planned for you. Just wait.

Anne seemed to be about to leave, I guess she doesn't have anything else to say to me. She began to walk in the opposite direction to mine, when she was already a few steps away I raised my voice.

"Aren't you going to say good-bye?"

That simple sentence made her stop, she remained motionless for a few seconds until she turned around stunned. I guess she knows what that phrase means, I try to look neutral but I know inside she's nervous. It's normal, if I were her I'd be like this too.

I think what made her alert the most was when I started to get closer, Anne wanted to escape from that situation but she couldn't, similar to when I discovered her at Marcy's house.

We were face to face, there was a small space between us, it was tortuous in a certain way since, as much as he does not admit it, I know perfectly well that he wants me.

And what else gives? I'll give her what she wants.

I placed both hands on her cheeks. I could feel them burning like I had a fever, it was so silly and at the same time so adorable to see her defenseless. I put my forehead with hers, it was very close to her, however Anne didn't look upset about it.

She didn't turn away from her either, it was fun to play this way, we are both equally proud and we would never allow our true thoughts to be known.

"What's up Anna-banana? Have you become shy now? "

She didn't respond to my comment, she kept quiet and was starting to be evasive. It didn't matter, it wasn't the first time she tried to ignore me even though I was in front of her. But she won't be able to do it anymore, not anymore.

I took her arm and brought her closer to me, her legs wobbled a little from the sudden movement but I didn't care. I leaned in and broke the distance between us.

As expected, she didn't react at all. However, she didn't separate from me either, she didn't even walk away from me. The kiss, despite not being reciprocated, did not seem to want it to end, which would eventually happen as the seconds passed without an answer since, even if it was for a short time, it was memorable.

When we parted it was inevitable not to blush. Especially Anne. I caressed her chin with my thumb, instinctively I wanted to leave her a kiss on the cheek but she considered that it was too much of a show of affection on my part. Which is not common, but it is worth it to see the reaction you cause in people to be something sudden.

I let out a sly laugh and let go of my hold on her, I was still in shock from the romance between the two of us, it was funny to see her expression, Anne is a very expressive girl when she feels upset she can't hide it, I must admit it's funny.

"Bye Annie, we'll kiss later."

...

My movements were mechanical, this day was important and that is why I had planned everything so that it would go perfectly. My legs moved in the direction indicated on my phone, in a way I was worried how she would react to seeing me, but come on, who wouldn't want to see me?

Luckily for me, it was a holiday so classes were cancelled. Most would spend their time at home, not doing much, at first I didn't plan to do much either until I remembered that I actually have a lot to do.

My feet stopped at the door, I rang the doorbell and hurriedly checked my hair in a mirror, my ego was more inflated than usual, I look pretty good. I prepared my smile when he received me, what I did not expect is how he would appear to me.

Anne sleepily opened the door, rubbing her eyes because they had interrupted her deep sleep, she was wearing pink pajamas with rabbit slippers. Her hair was not far behind, it was noticeably more fluffy than usual and tangled. She did not expect my visit, which It was the point but not the reason I came.

Her sight was adapting to the street light, when she focused her eyes she saw me in front of her door looking great.

"Surprise! " I gave her a smile, Anne she didn't understand what was happening. I didn't even ask permission and entered the house causing Anne to back away in confusion.

"Sasha? What? "

She rubbed her eyes again trying to see if it was all real, but it was. I took a quick look at the house from the inside, she didn't compare to mine in some ways although she had that homey and loving vibe where she won big. I saw a family portrait that caught my attention, it was a woman and a man with Anne, they were her parents. They had a smile from side to side and they looked very close, I could even feel jealous.

I ignored that and turned my attention to the person I cared about at the time.

"You better start getting dressed, why you?" I pointed at her and she pointed back at me. "And me, we're going on a date, right now."

"What? How do you know where I live? Do you have any idea what time it is? How...? "

I took out my cell phone, turned on the screen showing the time. "I don't know, it's ten in the morning". - I answered disinterestedly, Anne, not convinced with my answer, looked at me with a bad face. "Are you going to keep asking questions or are you going to get dressed?"

She surrendered she let out a sigh, walking her way dragging her feet to the railing of the stairs but not before going up to give me a warning.

"Wait down here, don't touch or take pictures of anything." she sentenced. She could be taken as a threat but she doesn't scare me at all, with an innocent face I nodded, she gave me a suspicious look but she ended up resigning herself to going up to her room.

That girl needs to trust me more. She's not like I was... Who did she cheat on? It's my chance to dig into her life, and if possible her past. I stealthily approached the home room, it was tidy as it should be. I noticed that there were some drawers, I satisfied my curiosity and opened them to discover what they contained, to my bad luck they were old magazines. The kind you get at the dentist's office, yes.

At the bottom of that mountain of magazines were a couple of blank pages, nothing very relevant. I walked carefully to the next room in the house, on a shelf there were photos of Anne as a baby, they were quite funny and endearing. Some of her tennis competitions, even in one she comes out posing a trophy that she won in a competition with a winning smile. I took my phone out of my pocket and took a few quick photos without unlocking the phone, I would keep them for later.

Anne's family seemed pretty average to tell the truth, nothing out of the ordinary and an exemplary daughter. But there were quite a few things that didn't fit that description of the perfect family, I need more than just a few childhood photos. I need information. Somewhere must be the reason why Anne left her previous school, if it is as I suspect she maybe she got into a fight and got expelled from it or did something much worse.

To be expelled from a school you must have crossed the limits of it, coming from it I'm not surprised. Since she arrived I knew that she would cause conflict, who knows, maybe her lies went too far. Now I just needed to think about where that information would be, the most likely answer is that Anne's parents keep it in her room, but it's hard for me to access there for obvious reasons.

If I keep this up you'll realize as soon as you come down, the clock isn't on my side right now. I checked the other spaces very carefully, the kitchen, dining room, hall, living room, there was nothing more than some old photos that did not help me, it makes me curious that he does not have a photo in his previous school, even so I did not find nothing incriminating.

I was frustrated, but I couldn't let it show, I just needed proof in my favor so I could have things under my control. However, I still know a secret from her that can benefit me in the future, so I'm one step ahead of her regardless.

I flopped heavily on the couch, disappointed that I hadn't found something, in less than five minutes I was down under Anne already dressed and groomed, her hair was up and she was wearing a long dress. It was simple; but not too much.

Her delicate hands rested on her ears trying to put on something, maybe some earrings.

"I'm ready, are we leaving now?"

I took another look at her, without much effort she managed to be cute no matter what. It's a curse or a blessing, I'm not sure of either but I must not get carried away. Like me, she is much more than meets the eye.

"...Sure. Let's go. "

...

"You like? "

I asked my companion, who had her eyes wide open, not believing what she was seeing. I guess when I mentioned the date I wasn't that specific, in my defense it wasn't on purpose. Well, maybe a little, yes, but it's funny to see her upset. She didn't answer my question, how she didn't move not a muscle did I have to drag her closer to the track.

She reacted by pulling her wrist out of my grasp, as if she didn't want her to touch him. I let out a sigh.

"What happen? "

"What are we doing here? I thought we were going to eat or... I don't know, I'm confused. "

"Do you prefer that to being here?"

She was quiet, I admit that it is not the date that all the girls would expect. But come on, she is an athlete and she should do more dangerous things than this, it must be like a baby game for her.

I brought my hands to my waist, with a slight change of scenery what I was hoping would be a good day was being ruined. However, I will make sure to make it the best, no matter how much it costs I will get even a smile out of that stubborn girl.

"Listen. " My tone changed to a more serious one since that merited, in a way it was more sincere. “The first time we met, I know I didn't make a good first impression on you. Now we are here, together. " I tried to make physical contact with Anne, she intertwined my fingers with hers and caressed them at the same time. "Please, give me the opportunity to make you change your mind, don't get carried away by what others say, okay? "

That sounded too honest, too real. I didn't take my eyes off her. Anne gulped as if she didn't know what to say, it was too much for her brain to process though I could tell how my words sweetened her senses. That made me smile, it made me have much more confidence in myself and that she will accept.

However, there was still one unknown.

"Well... You brought me to a skate park, but you didn't bring a skateboard." She mentioned with obviousness, I put my arms around her shoulder as a symbol of closeness, which didn't seem to bother her at all. "How will we do? "

"Don't worry, I've got it all figured out. " I assured.

Many children passed by, some did tricks on the ramps strategically placed at various points in the park, it was a large place to practice although it was not ideal for beginners.

My attention was fixed on one of the children, in his hands he had a skateboard bigger than him, he was shorter than most who were there, he was adorable. Judging by his appearance... He may be around eight or ten years old, which made the next step easier for me. I confidently approached him.

“Hey, brat. " I called out, causing him to turn his attention to me. "Twenty dollars for the skateboard, what do you say?"

She seemed to think about it a bit, his gaze returned to the object, I guess he didn't want to let it go since it has more than a material value. Being a kid with zero knowledge of the real world, twenty dollars would seem like a lot of money to him, which was far from the truth, not even skateboards cost that much. I could see that he was indecisive, that's when I decided to put more pressure.

"I do not have all day. "

Finally he agreed to give it to me, I gave him his money and he left thinking that he made the best investment of his life. How naive, I even feel a little guilty for taking advantage of him, but the guilt won't last long anyway.

I came back to Anne showing her skateboard, I placed it on the floor putting my right foot on it.

"Ready to learn, Boonchuy?"

Nervously she nodded, she put his feet on the board making her wobble, she couldn't keep his balance so it was difficult for her to simply move forward. He was holding on to my shoulders trying to stay upright, I put my hands on her waist making him raise his face to see me.

“You need to calm down. Take a deep breath, you can't be afraid of the board or falling, just trust. "

She followed my advice, his chest puffed out and he let out all the accumulated air, automatically his tense body could be more relaxed. When she was a little calmer she had more control, I released my grip on his body causing him to wave his arms hastily causing him to stagger again.

"Sasha! "

Before he fell back I held her, he instinctively held onto my neck. Due to the weight we were almost dragged by gravity but we were able to recompose ourselves again. We looked at each other trying to find an answer, but we were both equally confused. Until, Anne spoke.

"Don't ever let me go again. I'm scared of it. "

"I won't, shall we try again?"

For a few seconds she thought about deciding what to do, in the end she made a decision.

"It's fine. "
