There once was a girl, reading by the pond. Her name was Abigail Pond. She loves to read, she always goes to the library on a daily basis. She is the only Book Worm of her family. There used to be two book worms in the family. Her and her mother. Her mother’s name was Flora Pond and Flora and her daughter would always have reading sessions together. Then one cruel and gloomy day came along. Her mother was on her way to church. Then she saw a drunk man yelling at his friend by a lake. She tried to calm the man down only to get pushed out of the way and into the cold and deep lake. Unfortunately she couldn’t swim. The other man screamed and cried for help when no one was around. Abigail was at home reading her favorite book, when then she got a call. There was a man with a ruff and deep voice behind a phone. “Hello, is this Abigail?” The man said. “U-uh, Yes! Yes this is Abigail, who are you?” Abigail was shaking, she had never talked to a man by phone before. “Well, Abigail I’m gonna need you to stay calm..but your mother..she.. She passed away, "the man said. Abigail stayed silent, she couldn’t say anything or mouth any words. She just ran out the door. She was trying to find her mother and went to the only Hospital there was around town. The Pink Cross Hospital for Adults and children. She was panicking and screaming at the nurses trying to figure out where her mother was. She really had to see her. “Please! Let me see my mother! What happened!? Please, I must see her right now!” Abigail screamed at one of the nurses. The other nurses tried holding her back and tried calming her down but were unsuccessful. As Abigail broke free she ran towards the rooms and found her mother laying in a hospital bed. “Mom.., Mom please..please wake up..” Abigail said softly yet sadly. “Mom! Please! WAKE UP!” Abigail screamed as she cried. “Lord Please give me my mama Back!!”. Abigail was screaming and crying at the same time. Then the nurses came in and she was silent. She then got up and walked away. As She got home crying her father was sitting there crying on the porch. “Papa!” Abigail said. “Abi..?” Her father said as he wiped away his tears relieved to see that his daughter was ok. As he hugged her tightly He said “Sweetie, I have to talk to you..”. “What is it Papa?” Abigail said, trying to keep calm. “It’s about your mother..” He said.
