Part 1

I never knew my life would get to this point, but here we are. My name is Crystal Cortraya and I am SICK and TIRED of the gosh darned weather! Okay, with that out of the way, allow me to get you up to speed… A few months ago, my life was changed forever when I came to Moon High Ranch for the first time.

I honestly thought I would HATE Moon High Ranch, after all, what would a stupid little ranch have to offer someone so rich and charming as I? Well, I DID hate the ranch at first, because there’s this ANNOYING guy named Dender Harke. Dender practically harassed me with his annoyingly handsome sculpted body. Then there was a mysterious Alpha Werewolf placing candy canes in my bedroom…and then there were MANY Werewolves…and then I became a Werewolf!

Soooooo this is my life now, I guess? Well, as I said, that was a few months ago and I have detailed the occurrence elsewhere if you want to know about it. It is summer now and the frigid temperatures that were too cold to live in…were replaced with extremely hot temperatures that are too hot to live in! Like, gee. Is there no in between?!

“Crystal, what are you doing?” Dender asks all of a sudden.

“Oh, uhhhhh…dying from the heat?” I reply, grinning at my husband.

“Dying is illegal!” Dender exclaims. “Because when you die you die, and when you die, you die, and dying involves dying, which means you are dying. So dying is illegal!”

“Hah hah, I see…” I say, reaching and touching his annoyingly bare chest.

Dender is shirtless. To be fair, I don’t think I have EVER seen him wear a shirt. Today, because it’s so hot outside, he is wearing a simple pair of black shorts, revealing his sculpted calves and thighs. He catches me staring and flexes. I cringe and die a bit inside.

“Get a good look at this bod,” Dender says with a sly smirk. “I know you love it. It’s your favorite thing about me.”

“Hey, I have a really, really, REALLY important question,” I say, glancing around at some empty cribs.

“Hmmm?” Dender asks.

“Where in the heck are my babies?!” I scream.

“Ohhhh, uh, you know, I… Good question. They must have snuck out when I went to start work this morning.

“Help me find them, I don’t want them to cause any trouble,” I say, panicking.

I was not prepared to have Werewolf children, but I guess that’s what happens when you make risky bets. I agreed to it, so now I have to live with the consequences. Werewolf kids, as it turns out, are able to run around and cause trouble long before human kids can. The first of my nine children (yes, nine…) is Edme. She’s pretty strong, but not very confident. As a wolf, her fur is mostly white, though she has a variety of colors mixed into her fur (pink ears, cheek fluff and bottom of tail, silver nose bridge, chest, and upper tail, long black stockings on her front arms, brown fur on her neck and flanks, and sandy orange fur in her ears, on her belly, and as socks on her back paws). Outside of her wolf form, she has golden eyes and light brown hair.

My second child is Dagger. He’s got a strange obsession with murdering turtles and it makes me really sad (he’s also a bully and I’m trying SO HARD not to lose my mind whenever he beats up his other siblings. Dender says it’s normal Werewolf behavior and that Donald was also like that). As a wolf, he’s mostly black, but he has gray inner ears, chin, chest, belly fur, and paws, a tuft of brown hair on top of his head, a sandy orange nose bridge, white front paws, red neck fluff and most of his tail, and, most surprisingly, blue on the tip of his tail. Like Edme, he has golden eyes and brown hair that’s a little darker than her’s.

You might be wondering, am I REALLY about to describe every single child? The answer is yes, yes I am. Hang on tight, I’ve only told you about two of the nine. Each one is unique. If you don’t care, I give you permission to skip to chapter two.

My third child, Agamede, is really sassy and has, on multiple occasions, jumped really high into the air to avoid getting captured and put into time out. In her wolf form, she is similar to Dagger in that she’s mostly black. However, Agamede has a gray nose bridge and mid-section of tail, a more upward pointing nose than the other two, brown hair fluff, outer ears, front arms (which are really slender) and a bit on her sides, golden cheeks, red inner ears, and blue back legs and tail tip. In her human form, she has similar hair to Edme, but darker and she has shockingly red eyes.

Gunner, my fourth child, could almost pass off for a normal gray wolf aside from his red eyes. He is mostly gray, but has long white hair streaming from his head, white shoulders, nose bridge, and back paws, his ear fluffs, chest fluff, and front paws are all black. Gunner is another of the pups that highly concerns me as he only seems to care about himself and has been causing mischief around the ranch ever since he learned how to walk. Like Edme, he has light brown hair as a human.

In stark contrast to the other four pups I mentioned there is little Ulrica who is polite, but doesn’t speak much yet. She’s very sunny in color as she is mostly orange and gold aside from a few tan markings and her black tail. In her human form, Ulrica has light blue eyes and blonde hair. Whereas I am afraid of the other four causing trouble, I’m more afraid that Ulrica will get hurt or bullied by her siblings. You may or may not be surprised to know that Gunner swallowed her a few times before similar to how Donald abducted me that one time.

Pup number six out of the nine is Leroy who is almost all black and gray. He tries so hard to be a leader of sorts to the others, but he doesn’t respect the others and they don’t respect him. He’s got orange on his chin, cheeks, and eyebrows. One of the most interesting features is his tail that looks like fire as it is bright yellow with orange tips. In his human form, he has dark blue eyes and light brown hair.

My seventh pup is Ezra and he’s never been an issue. His fur is mostly caramel brown, but he had red outer ears, cheek fluffs, and back paws, golden inner ears, nose bridge, chest fluff, and bottom of tail, a black hair tuft on the back of his head and belly, and orange front paws and top of tail. Ezra has light brown hair and light green eyes in his human form. He’s rather intelligent and brave even when his siblings are threatening him.

The second to last pup is Zeki. He seems to see himself as a king and is the first pup to have mastered howling (to be fair, I still haven’t entirely figured it out). Zeki is mostly blue and the most obviously not a normal wolf. He does have purple in his ears, a tiny bit on his chest fur, and a purple tail, a white beard crests his face and he has a silver nose bridge, one black front paw, both back legs are red, a sandy orange belly, and a silver streak through his tail. As a human, he has brown hair and light blue eyes.

The final child, (thank goodness I don’t think I could handle more than nine at once) is Eris. As a wolf, Eris looks very natural being mostly brown with gray and black markings. The biggest issue I have with Eris is that I have seen her playing with human bones before. I’m PRETTY SURE Eris is a murderer, but I haven’t seen her actually kill anyone. I am going to be in big HUGE trouble if anyone catches her and traces her back to me. As a human, she looks similar to Agamede, but with blue eyes, not red.

While we are on the subject of formal introductions, might I also buy some of your time to discuss my other main pack-mates? First and foremost, Dender Harke is the Alpha, my Alpha, and I rule alongside him now as the Luna Alpha whatever in the heck that means. Dender is a muscular guy with short red hair and pointed golden eyes. I can best describe him as protective, loving, but also a show off and sometimes a nuisance. Regardless, I love him. Everything within me craves him even though he’s so gosh darned annoying!

Then there is Donald Leon Harke, but he’s known as Donald Leon to those who aren’t part of the pack. Donald has smooth silky orange hair and half moon shaped golden eyes that make him look constantly relaxed. He’s a deceitful and vicious man who tricked me into thinking he was the Alpha before I knew the Alpha was Dender. He’s kind of charming, but I despise how cruel he is with his obsession of me.

Then there is Celestine who is absolutely gorgeous with her super curly long blonde hair. I trust Celestine to help care for my babies and she has been a great aunt. I even have had her feed my babies before (Female wolves can produce milk for babies even if they have no babies themselves). She may be pretty, but she’s also tough and can stand up for herself most the time.

Her male counter part is found in Shane Dowwin Harke, the curly blonde haired young man. He’s rather docile most of the time, but he once tried to eat me. He still has a big scar down his belly and he always frets that he’s going to accidentally break the skin back open. Ever since, he’s been mostly avoiding me out of shame I believe.

Second to last we have Darci who has short curly ginger hair. Actually? She looks a LOT like Marci, the last Harke whom I didn’t even call by name last time I wrote of my crazy life. Anyhow, Darci is kind of tomboyish and is known to be stronger than Shane, though don’t tell him that I know that. Last, but not least, is Marci who is very shy and quiet and she rarely speaks to me. I wonder what secrets she is hiding.
