THE PLOUGHED FIELD
The day was cloudy. Even though I was at the place where I felt the safest, I felt uneasy. Unexpectedly, I got a call from a stranger. It was a hurricane that could have instantly altered everything.I hurriedly boarded a bus to my location, but I was still hopelessly lost in the moment. Everything slipped out of my hands. Although there was a lot of rush inside the bus, I wasn’t in a position to be aware of my surroundings. Where must I go? I was unable to recall. In the meantime, the bus ticket seller approached me. But I found that my voice was muffled. After much effort, I finally stated to him in a scattered voice, ”Give me a ticket to the last stop of this bus."My heart is heavy. Tears began to flow from my eyes against my will. Some memories of her flashed like lighting into my thoughts.Zera; that is her name. We first met at the wedding of a mutual friend. A young girl, who is not concerned about her outlook or outfits—that was my first impression of her. Despite the fact that her wavy hair was untied and her outfits were a way too simple, there was something about her that drew my attention to her like a magnet. That may be her beautiful eyes, which visualize images of a deep ocean, or it may be the smile that she wore the entire day. When she smiles out loud, her teeth appear to me as a pearl inside an oyster.Out of blue, two hands landed on my shoulder. It was an old lady in grey. She might have figured out the oddities in my behaviour.”Are you alright? Is there anything that I can do for you?" she inquired. She might be trying to comfort me. Buthe was unaware that anything that was currently feasible was beyond the capabilities of anyone. I wiped off my tears with a damp tissue and had a small conversation with her.She provided me some guidance and said”Lady, a lovely and ideal life is only someone’s imagination. I am in my 90s now, and I couldn’t find even a single individual who had a so-called perfect life. Life is a roaring sea. There are two options for you: either to move on, preparing yourself to deal with whatever difficulties that may arise in your way, or to give up like a dim-witted loser. You are young; make your decision wisely so that you can win your life."Yes, that was a fact. Her words pierced into my thoughts."Next is the station I’m supposed to get to,” she finally said. I nodded my head slightly, granting her permission to leave.
