Chapter 1
Death is a part of life whether we like it or not. Imagine this, you are a rich person, having a party at your mansion with everyone who you know, who loves you, hates you, wants to kill you. Then, at night when you rest you head onto your pillow and your eyes say goodbye to the day that gave you so much joy. Your heart is still beating, your brain is thinking up dreams, weird ones, nice ones, funny ones, and nightmares, the scary, the cringy and the makes you want to crawl into your parent's bed, even if they live 1000 miles away.
Then without warning, your heart gets weaker, breathing becomes harder, but you do not feel it since you are still in dreamland or nightmare city. You do not realize that you are in your last few minutes left on Earth. Then, it stops, your heart freezes, its work has been done. Your lungs give up, your body shuts down. Your body is dead and is discovered by your faithful dog who howls at your death. Your funeral takes place in a few weeks, everyone you love, crying. Well, most. Some are the fake criers, not really caring about you, maybe wanting your fortune. Some are secretly cheering, having a party, though not in front of the ones who truly are crying, that would be disrespectful and just plain rude. But don’t worry about your loyal dog, he’ll be sent to your relatives who will love and cherish him.
Everyone feels death every single day. Somewhere around the world, someone is breathing their last breath, someone is mourning. Men become widowers, woman become widows, children become orphans. Everyone in their life will experience death, their own and others. Whether they like it or not.
Some deaths are from long illnesses, like cancer or heart disease, some are short, like a heart attack or the flu. Some know that they will die, no medicine will ever cure them. Some do not. Like the ones who are killed, sacrificed. It’s scary to think about.
Some get killed with a simple stab, a shot. Some are killed for the greater good. Some get killed by a train or a car. Others are not so lucky. They slowly get killed, poison, torture.
Anything can make you leave this world. But what happens to your soul? Your body may be dead but what about you, your soul, what makes you... you? What happens to that, does it just disappear? Many believe that there is a god that takes the good souls to heaven and the bad to hell. Some believe that you will take on another life. Everyone has their theories, even the scariest, that it’s just it. You are just gone. Poof.
Death is life’s greatest mystery, better than who Jack the Ripper was, the New York unsolved crimes, what happened to Amelia Earheart, or is their life beyond earth? Anything is possible.
This is a mystery that may still puzzle you once you're finished or you’ll get everything and ruin it for everyone, including your mind. The brain likes puzzles, the harder, the better like wordsearches. But let’s just start the mystery that will make you question a few things (I hope).
Read on and you’ll see.
