Meeting You
Star
I was so wrapped up in my book that I didn't even notice the man standing before me, his crooked little smile spread across his handsome face.
“Oh, gosh! Hi!" I smiled, dropping my anatomy onto the counter and hurrying over to the order line, “I’m so sorry. What can I get for you?”
The guy was hot—had to be a few years older than me, though, but that didn’t matter. I liked older guys much to my older brother’s chagrin. I was inexperienced in the ways of men so my excitement shifted from my face to my core and I felt myself blushing.
“You can start by giving me your number...” His hazel eyes narrowed as he looked me up and down and I felt my insides heat up, “I’m Roman.” He reached over the counter and shook my hand—thank God my palm wasn’t as sweaty as I felt.
“I’m Star.”
He chuckled, “Your name is Star?”
I frowned, “Yes. My name is Star.”
He put up a hand, “No, you’ve got it wrong. I like it—I just wasn’t expecting such a stellar name.”
“Ha...” I laughed at his cheesy joke, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of him. Dirty blonde hair, tall, built...had to have played some sort of sport and the most alluring hazel eyes I’d ever seen in my life.
“So, what are you reading?” He looked over at my book on the counter.
“Oh, it’s just my anatomy book for class.”
“You in college?”
“Do I look old enough?” I never thought I did. People still thought I was around 17 and I was inching very slowly towards 23.
“You don’t look old, you look gorgeous,” Roman smiled, his perfect teeth shimmering in the mall’s dim lighting, “So, your number?”
Roman
I wasn’t expecting her to be so fucking gorgeous up close—and innocent
She wouldn’t hurt a fly, but that was of no concern to me. I had other plans for Star Baxter. Plans to make her mine—make her beg for me—make her wish we’d never met, yet still craving me, craving my touch, my kiss, my....
“Did you want something to eat?” She was asking me again.
“You’ve no idea...” I flirted. I didn’t flirt like a normal man. I was pretty up front and nasty about it, but Star seemed to enjoy my little quips.
Her golden blonde hair and big blue eyes were perfect and those hips of hers were going to come in handy when I needed something to hold on to as I rammed myself inside of her.
“Oh, yeah..a glazed donut and a coffee—black.”
“You must be boring,” She teased.
“I’m a simple man,” I shrugged.
She smiled, but rang me up and went to grab my order.
I paid, but no one was in line so I lingered for a moment, sipping my hot coffee and watching her.
“Wanna grab dinner sometime?”
“Look, I really don’t know you..” She said twirling a finger through her hair.
“You know my name. You know I like glazed donuts and boring black coffee.”
She smiled, “Well...”
“I work down at the auto shop,” I said, “I just started working there this week, but I’m from Atlas.”
“You’re from Atlas?”
“Can’t have an Atlas man?” I smiled, “You Avery girls are always craving us Atlas boys—admit it.”
Her blushing was the sweetest thing I’d ever seen, but I had to snap out of that bullshit. My balls ached already.
“No..no..I just,--”
“We’ll meet at the food court tomorrow at five,” I said,
Maybe if I sounded stupidly desperate, she’d go for it.
Star
I found myself nodding in enthusiastic agreement.
Blaze and Fox would have kicked my ass if they knew I was meeting an Atlas guy I’d just met, but Roman was gorgeous and I was so lonely these days.
“Sure,” I smiled, “Why not?”
“You only live once, Star,” Roman smiled and took a bite of his donut as we exchanged numbers, “It was a delight to meet you and I look forward to seeing you again tomorrow.”
“Nice to meet you, Roman...” I said as he winked at me and walked off.
“Who was that?” My friend and colleague, Jessica, came up behind me to take over the midday shift, “He was hot.”
“Roman...something. I didn’t get his last name,”I bit my bottom lip, “Don’t tell Blaze, but I’m meeting Roman tomorrow at the food court.”
Jess laughed, “Girl, I want to meet him at the food court. Your secret is safe with me.”
“Thanks...”I grabbed my book and clocked out at part time job at Deb’s Donuts.
“Have a good one, Jess. Let me know about that test Tuesday!”
“I will!” Jess smiled, “Let me know how it goes with Roman tomorrow and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do!”
I rolled my eyes, “Yes, ma’am.”
“BUT DON’T DO ANYTHING I WOULD!”
