"First the good, I absolutely could not put the story down. I bored through the book in one night and have to wake up in a few hours. The characters were compelling and relatable, the events were exciting and were really well interwoven. The setting was well varied and descriptive. Not so good time: grammar errors, not alot but some, only a few that made reading difficult. The transitions in time and settings between chapters feels too sudden. Only after reading the chapter a bit you realize "oh they've been at this for a few months" More specifically the transition from when they first pick up Isabelle which was winter and when they reach the port city which I would infer to be late spring maybe early summer? Perhaps an explanation of what happened to Amber and her husband's "farm" after they left and how everyone was convinced to stay and become ministers might make the story's conclusion feel less sudden. Also the epilogue seems tacked on, there's no explanation of time(aside from Bayle being an ancestor) or place. I did enjoy the read. The good part seems shorter since I'm trying to be constructive with the bad and use examples. Would definitely recommend and buy it if it went on shelves."
