Chapter 1

It was a cold winter night. I was sitting in my pigsty of a bedroom and catching up on My Hero Academia. Suddenly, a strange vortex opened up beneath me. It pulled me in within seconds without giving me any chance to escape.

I soon found myself falling through a deep blue void. There was a bright, off-white light shining where the entrance should be - you know, where I fell through. The only thing I had to comfort me was my stuffed panda, Bitsy, which I had apparently held onto when I was pulled in. Suddenly, what appeared to be the other end of this not-so-endless tunnel opened beneath me, and I fell through it. The second I touched the ground, I blacked out, losing all consciousness.

There were bright lights shining in my eyes. I heard people whisper, “She’s waking up. Get a teacher! Get the nurse!”

Beep… beep… beep…

Wherever I landed, it was cold. I was resting, still mostly unconscious, on a bed. No, a cot. It wasn’t the most comfortable, but it was alright. There were unfamiliar voices all around me.

It was really strange. I was watching TV in my room one minute, and the next thing I knew, I had fallen into a rabbit hole, having no clue as to where I ended up.

Beep, beep, beep, beep-

Suddenly, my head was reeling, my heart was racing, my legs were shaking, and my stomach was tossing and turning. I had no idea where I was, or how I got here. Did I fall asleep? If so, this is one hell of a dream, or nightmare, for that matter.

My head. I had a splitting ache in the back of my head, and when I reached my hand back to touch it, my head hurt more. I grunted as I pulled my hand away.

With all the movement, I felt something lightly tugging on my chest and torso. I looked down, only to see that I was hooked up to a machine - a heart monitor. As my heartbeat sped up, so did the beeping.

Beep beep beep beep beep-

The panicking only worsened from there. My whole body, mainly my head, was aching. I was shaking like a tremendous earthquake, and my breathing grew heavier and heavier. The room began to feel small as if the ceiling was collapsing, the walls were caving in, and the ground felt like it was disappearing.

Panting. My breaths grew heavier and heavier as my lungs were tightening. My throat was sore, so my breaths were not only quick and heavy, but they were also raspy.

Footsteps. I heard quick footsteps. Someone was approaching. Someone was running. The door swung open. The footsteps grew close, and then they stopped. I felt a hand on my shoulder. Then I heard in a calming voice, “Hey, hey. It’s okay. You’re okay. You’re safe. Take a breath.”

I placed my hand on my chest, feeling my rapid heartbeat. I slowly inhaled, held my breath for a brief moment, and then slowly exhaled. The beeping slowed to a normal pace.

Beep… beep… beep…

After calming down, I looked over at the person beside me, and I immediately flung back to the edge of the cot. My heart skipped a couple of beats, and my fingers clung to the edge as I pulled myself forward, as I was afraid of falling off the cot. I suddenly winced in pain, as the sudden movement worsened my headache. I also felt a little weight around my ankle. I looked down and noticed a metal clamp.

“Oh, that’s a Quirk Blocker. It prevents you from using your quirk when EraserHead isn’t present,” he stated.

I must be dreaming, I thought. I blinked a few times and even rubbed my eyes, but no. He was still there. I pinched myself. OW!! Nope, not dreaming.

The person I saw kneeling in front of me was none other than Izuku Midoriya - the protagonist of My Hero Academia.

Was I sucked into this dimension? I thought. How on earth did I get here? Am I dreaming? Did I… die?!?

“Hey, are you ok?” he asked.

“Huh? Oh, yeah. Sorry,” I replied as I refocused my attention. “I hope you don’t mind me asking, but... what happened? How did I get here?”

“Oh, I found you unconscious on the ground, so I brought you to the nurse. I don’t know anything prior to that, though. I’m sorry.”

“Oh, that’s alright. Thank you.” Suddenly, I was remembering. I remembered watching My Hero Academia on my TV. I remember being sucked into a portal. I remember-

“-My bear,” I muttered while patting the cot and then realizing that I didn’t have Bitsy with me. I know I had it with me when I was pulled in, meaning it had either been lost or stolen.

“What?” Midoriya questioned.

“My bear. I always have it with me! I need my bear!! Where is my bear!?” I was speaking quicker and quicker; louder and louder. A sense of panic began to grow in my voice. My heartbeat was speeding up with every thought swarming my head. I began hyperventilating.

Beep beep beep beep beep-

Suddenly, a small creature crawled out from under the cot and hopped up onto my lap. The creature was a panda cub, but smaller. It looked at me with its adorable little eyes, as if waiting for me to say something.

Beep, beep, beep, beep.

"Is this...?" I muttered. As I looked into its eyes and gently patted its head, I realized. "...Bitsy?" I looked up as it hopped forward and nuzzled against my stomach. I began tearing up as I wrapped my arms around it, holding it as I did when it was still a plush.

Beep... beep... beep...

It began running around me, and they even crawled up my jacket. I couldn't help but laugh. It then turned to Midoriya and nuzzled against his face. He gave Bitsy little head pats before placing them back onto my lap.

After a little while, a tall figure walked into the room, along with a short, elderly woman. Bitsy scurried off my lap and hid behind me.

“So, you’re finally awake,” the man bemoaned. The tall man was none other than Shota Aizawa, a pro hero and a teacher at UA. The small woman was Chiyo Shuzenji, UA's school nurse. In order to hide the fact that I was from another dimension, I had to play dumb and act like I didn't know them.

“I’m sorry, who are you?” I questioned.

“The name is Eraser Head, and this is Recovery Girl. You’re coming with me. We have some questions for you.” I nodded, removed the electrodes from my torso, and followed the insomniac into the hall. Bitsy hopped off the cot and followed me. They were having trouble keeping up, so I picked them up and walked with them in my arms. It felt strange walking with a heavy clamp around my ankle. We eventually stopped in front of a door. We had passed plenty of doors, but it was this one in particular that we stopped at. He opened it and gestured for me to head in. He followed and shut the door behind us.

There was a wooden table with two chairs on either side and a ceiling lamp hanging over the table. There was a machine on the side of the table with a metal glove hooked up to it. It looked like something that was pulled from an old detective film, but more technologically advanced. I sat in the chair close to the wall, and he sat in the chair closer to the door. I was holding Bitsy close to my chest.

There was a large window that almost reached from wall to wall. Through it, I could see another room beside us. In that other room, I watched Deku walk in, following a few other familiar faces: Present Mic and Principal Nezu. They all sat down along the other side of the window, watching closely.

Aizawa slipped the glove onto my hand, and it looked like a techy sci-fi robo-glove.

“This is a lie detector. You lie, you get shocked.” As he said that, I examined my hand. “Don’t try anything funny,” he threatened.

“I wasn’t planning on it,” I replied, still staring at the glove in awe - and fear. Then again, this wasn’t the first technological device I’ve been hooked up to.

“Let’s start simple. Tell me your name and age,” he interrogated.

“Okay, then... my name is Baize Myers, and I’m sixteen years old,” I replied.

I heard Deku and Present Mic speaking in the other room.

“She’s sixteen?” Deku queried.

“I thought she was twelve,” Mic whispered. "Ow!" Recovery Girl had hit Mic with her cane.

I chuckled softly to myself. “Yeah, I get that a lot…” I responded, obviously hinting to them that I could hear them. Mic realized that he was accidentally leaning on the button that activated the microphone, allowing everyone in that room to communicate with us. He got off the button, took a step back, and looked around awkwardly. I tried to hold back my laughter as Aizawa sighed and shook his head. I cleared my throat.

“Do you know where you are?” he continued.

“Not... exactly...” I replied. The machine dinged, indicating that I was telling the truth.

“You’re currently at UA, the top hero school. Midoriya found you unconscious on campus and brought you to our attention.” Aizawa glanced at Deku as he mentioned his name.

“How did you get here?”

“I was... kidnapped? AH, SHIT-!” I jerked my hand back as the machine buzzed, followed by a jolt of electricity. It startled Bitsy, who jumped and crawled into my sweater. Aizawa looked pissed.

“Sorry, sorry...”

“I’ll ask you again. How did you get here?”

I sighed knowing I couldn’t bullshit my way out of this, and I couldn’t dismiss it by saying that I didn’t know. While that’s not a lie, it’s also not the full truth. I glanced down at Bitsy, who had their head sticking out, and I explained the whole thing. Well, I did leave out the whole "I’m from a different dimension where you guys are all in a manga series AND an animated TV show, so I know pretty much everything about all of you. I got transported here by a portal. I think I’m dead."

“Were you sent here by the League of Villains?”

“Nope.” The machine dinged.

“What is your quirk?”

“I don’t know,” I shrugged as those words slipped out. I didn’t realize what I had said until the machine dinged, which made me jump. I quickly covered my mouth, as I was worried about him finding out that this wasn’t even my dimension. You know, all the “screwing with the fabric of the universe” stuff.

Aizawa glanced at the others, who looked puzzled, then back at me. I looked down at Bitsy, who stared at me. Then, we both looked back at Aizawa.

“So… you have no idea what your quirk is?” he asked, a little confused.

“...that’s correct.” The machine dinged.

“You’re not quirkless or anything?”

“...I don’t...maybe?” The machine dinged.

Aizawa glanced once again at the people in the other room. Then he looked back at me.

“This interrogation is finished. Come with me,” he instructed as he stood up.

“Y-yes sir,” I replied as I slipped the glove off my hand. I wrapped my arms around myself, providing support for Bitsy, for they were still in my sweater.

I followed him, Nezu, and Mic into a building near campus. There, he tested me to see what my quirk was, if I had any. We seemed to be there for an hour at least, but we had no luck. We all just figured I was quirkless. What a shame.

We talked with Principal Nezu, and he asked me for some general info. I told him my name and age. I told him I was from the US, and that I had no idea how I ended up here. Nezu told me that I could attend school here, including sleeping in the dorms, just temporarily.

"Uh... can I keep..." I held out Bitsy.

"Oh, of course! It must stay in the dorms unless it's a service animal," Nezu replied.

"Oh, um... do... therapy animals count?"

"...I suppose I could make an exception, yes."

I smiled wide. Bitsy seemed to sense my excitement because they suddenly became excited. They began nuzzling against my face.

Since I’ve already met Deku, I could attend class 1-A with him. This is going to be interesting.

The second I stepped into class, a wave of anxiety washed over me as everyone suddenly dropped their conversations and stared at me. The shaking returned. My heart was racing. The room began spinning. My stomach was tying in knots. Aizawa spoke.

“Class, this is Baize. She will be staying with us temporarily. I expect you all to treat her with respect.” As he said that, he glanced at Katsuki Bakugo, who scoffed, and then Aizawa glared at Minoru Mineta, who was clearly offended. “Baize, you may have a seat in the back next to Mina Ashido.”

I scanned the classroom and found Mina waving. I walked to the back and sat in the empty chair beside her.

“Hey, new kid! Nice to meet you!”

“Nice to meet you too,” I replied, grinning. She smiled, and I smiled back. I introduced her to Bitsy, and we talked for a bit.

"Oh, by the way, watch out for that blonde kid and the purple... haired... kid. The blonde guy is Bakugou, and he's a jackass. The purple dude is Mineta, and he's a MEGA pervert."

"Oh, uh... thanks for the heads up."

The rest of the day consisted of me adjusting to the change, and getting settled in. I was quick to befriend my classmates. They all loved Bitsy. Bitsy was also super excited about meeting all these new people. I was excited to see how tomorrow would go.
