Prologue
The roads decided to take a vacation, which meant that the drivers had no way to get from here to there.
“What are we supposed to do now?” “Build new roads!” “But what if the new ones also decide to disappear?”
The original roads returned to find that there were already new roads that the drivers were traveling on.
“Very good! Now we can return to where we were vacationing at.” the original roads thought.
But, the new roads followed the original roads to the vacation spot, which again left the drivers without any roads.
And so, they decided not to travel so much, and instead stayed closer to home.
And this is how it happened that people stopped using bikes, cars, trains, and even planes to get around.
Walking was pretty much the only way of getting from here to there that they did anymore, and most folks usually stuck close to their home town.
After a while, though, people tried building roads again, but decided that it must’ve been the cars and trucks and whatnot that’d been scaring the roads away.
And, so, only things like walking and pedal bikes were allowed on the newest roads, and the newest roads seemed to think that this solution was ok.
Some people tried bringing cars and whatnot onto the newest roads, but the newest roads would just toss such vehicles off of them,
which deterred pretty much everybody from attempting such feats anymore, and led to cars’ virtual extinction…
