Duality in the Sky

In every realm that people escape to, some seek out meaning and significance in their real actions. Those actions that seek validation tend to hold secrets that even those doing the actions might not know about.

Realms tend to be peaceful areas; ones that resemble a place in space or a place hidden from all. In the area, two moons are hanging high in the clear night sky; visible for all to see.

One moon brings joy, happiness, and a sense of possibility for the upcoming future. While the other moon brings worry, doubt, and the ominous feeling of trouble in the path. Two moons in similar appearance; two different feelings and outcomes.

The last time I saw a full moon was not too long ago. It was beautiful; it was an amazing sight to see — the full moon, so clear and free from any shreds of cover that might keep its beauty from all. An overwhelming sense of light filled my body. It was as if the moon was taking away my worries and making me lighter than I am.

At that present moment, I felt at peace and right with the world. No worries, no doubts, no insecurities about myself. Just the feeling of light and peace.

However, as I moved away from the moon, the feelings of light and peace slowly began to disappear. The beautiful moon was still there, casting its light on me, unmoved, but something had changed. The moon, no longer, gave me that sense of lightening, but rather a sense of burden and dread. I, no longer, felt at peace. Only conflict and confusion ran through my head as I looked at the sky.

My moon. My wonderful moon. The one that gave me hope…is also the one that gave me sorrow.

Has anyone ever wondered why the moon might be more important than the sun? The moon is more important because it sees what we do in the night — the covers of life. It sees our good and bad actions. Our good and bad thoughts. Our good and bad secrets.

The moon sees it all and keeps it from others. Remaining only between itself and the person. The moon is our only friend and confidant in the realm. But also, our enemy and betrayer.

Every trip to the realm, for escape, brings a new sense of feeling. Will today’s escape bring joy and smiles? Or will it bring depression and tears?

We will never know the answers, nor will the moon. But the moon will always be there to see, listen, and guide us to the next day.
