It was on an ordinary day that the five empires decided all at once to banish the Creatures of the Dark from any land before the Moonrise. It wasn't exactly surprising— resentment had been brewing for longer than most could account for. With nowhere to go and nothing to do, Rhyla set out on a never-ending journey. It was along the way that she encountered others in a similar situation with their own problems to solve. Rhyla finds herself within a group of tired, angry, dangerous creatures and finds it more comforting than she could have ever imagined. It was amongst their combined darkness that light eventually shone through. Hope found them in the form of a legend— a long-forgotten fruit that could cure them of all of their deformities and monstrosities and perhaps even grant them permission to return to the homes that had abandoned them. If only they knew how— or where for that matter— to find it.
