The Age of Divinity's end
made cataclysmic waves throughout the cosmea.
When succession hung in the balance
among the court of Shayd,
a rivalry in the pursuit of dominance
erupted when the eldest son sought to win the King’s favor
by clashing with The Fates
to seize the draconic aether
+ ascend to unequivocal divinity.
To become unrivaled,
even among gods.
Prophecy foretold who controls the aether gains mastery
over a Guide’s path,
along with accumulating the souls they carry.
Neither Shayd nor Fate paid heed
to the prophecy’s warning:
"Devastating wrath shall be thy’s inexorable undoing.
It's incarnation shall emerge from darkness
+ stoke the starforged flame,
thus guaranteeing immunity against
divinity's severance.
Thy's unfit master shall succumb to
the fanged maw of eternity."
The prophet couldn't help but smile
when their warning fell
on deaf ears.
The strife between the two opposing powers
left both sides bleeding
until The Fates emerged as the victor,
who then weaved their threads
into a Guide’s will,
+ whispered the promise
of Celestia at life’s mortal end.
All while the Shayd King's son is renounced,
made unfit to rule.
Underestimated in his ambition,
the son unleashed a deadly force,
spilling the blood of his competition
across the King's court,
rendering himself sole heir
among slain kin.
The spiteful King sealed his legacy away,
to never be consumed by his son
before he too is felled by the eternally damned
Crown Prince of Shayd.
