There comes a time where everyone needs to make a choice. Where one needs to take the definitive leap out of the nest, and just hope that they can soar. Some don’t learn to fly in time, and their fate becomes trapped. Others flourish and their wings grasp onto the air, propelling them with sheer instinct far and away from complacency.
Sometimes this choice is made in a rather subtle manner. Such as when one decides to take that leap of faith and make a career change. Leave the abusive relationship. Move somewhere new and unknown while they venture into areas they’d always dreamed of exploring.
Other times this decision is made under blinding lights in front of millions. And more often than not, despite being in the public eye, it goes rather unnoticed.
Why am I telling you this? It’s a fair question. Eventually we all need to make this decision. Whether to put your life in the hands of the almighty and learn to soar… or to fall hard and never recover. This is the story of two men who decided to take this leap. This is the story of two men trying to grab onto the wind. The story of two men trying to harness their livelihood out of the air. The story of two men making their jump.
But as always, there’s complications. Sometimes the chicks in the nest are going to be met with wind. Other times, rain. If our little birds are lucky, their mother decided to nest just outside of a farmer’s home. There may be a nice soft pile of freshly mowed green grass below the nest. It may seem like a nice lawn, after all the farmer probably took all morning getting the wonderful lawn clipped to his wife’s standards. But of course, there’s also the chance that the family feline waits patiently under the homestead’s deck. Salivating with an unfettered gaze, keeping a keen lookout for one unsuspecting chick to land on this false safety net.
There is no perfect time for this jump, it just happens when the world (and in our little analogy, the mama bird) decides it’s time for the hatchlings to take that jump…
