Ch-0-Friday

————————

"Wake up sleepyhead ".

That’s the first thing I have to wake up to on a Friday morning. "You sleep way too much."

I decided not to get up yet, but that didn’t last too long. "You’d think she’s dead".

I groaned and switched the side I was lying on. After a couple of minutes of trying to fall asleep, I sit up. I might feel a bit dazed right now, but I just can’t seem to resist the temptation to beat the ever-living shit out of whoever woke me up.

I pause for a moment. The thought just now coming through my head.

I live alone.

I slowly open my eyes in dread. Breathing a little bit harder than a few seconds before. Once I feel comfortable enough, I whip my head around, my eyes searching my room only to find nothing. Not again. With my heavy breathing, I step out of bed and head towards one of my cabinets in a corner of my bedroom.

With a hurried hand, I unlock a small opening pocket and take a bottle of pills out. Rushing out of my bedroom and into my kitchen, I find myself a glass and pour some water into it. “Take deep breaths”, is all I repeat while walking back to my room.

Once I make it through the door, I open the pill bottle, pop one in my mouth, and drown it with the water I had previously gotten from my kitchen.

I set the glass down on the cabinets and sighed heavily. I sat back down on my bed feeling deflated. Right now, I’m wondering if I should mention this to my doctor. I know I should, and if I don’t this could cause a problem, but then again, he’d probably just have me put on some other medication.

What is wrong with me?

Having enough time to think to myself, I stand up and set off towards my bathroom. After brushing my teeth, and emptying my tank, I take a shower. I stepped out and soon came face to face with my steamed figure in the mirror. I took a step further raising my right hand to wipe the steam off.

I huffed a little bit and began wiping.

“Being straight-up crazy is just something, I could never do.”

I jumped backward almost slipping into the shower. This isn’t real, I think as I stare into the bathroom mirror. Only to be once again reminded that I’m seeing myself, my reflection, but it’s not reflecting what I’m doing.

What’s the point of the word reflection when it’s not reflecting?

A couple of minutes of me and my demon-infested mirror staring into each other’s soul, or rather this thing staring into mine, while I stare into its glassy core.

"They’re not working like they used to Alice". It says while smirking.

That thing is still talking, but I’m not listening. I ran out of the bathroom, ignoring it. I reached my cabinets once again, and this time instead of taking one pill out of the bottle, I took three. Of course, swallowing it down with water.

I turn around hastily and search for anything that points to an unholy being in my room. A few moments go by, and nothing happens. No demon me, no talking, just silence.

Just my bedroom.

I’m still tired, and a little spooked so I go back to bed. Just lying there on my back, staring at the ceiling, and listening to the sweet deafening silence. After a while, I decided to close my eyes and try to get some more sleep.

Cause who doesn’t like more sleep?

So, nap time it is.

I slid myself back under my covers, but sleep seemed to never arrive. I open my eyes, staring at my window across the room. I figure it’s still light out, and sleep doesn’t want to bother me right now, so I sit up.

With a groan, I slip out of bed. I’ve still got some daylight on my hands, but I could never find myself going out much. Breaking from my heart-breaking thoughts of not getting out into society a lot, I walk towards my living room.

Plopping down on my couch, I pick the remote up and turn the TV on. A dangerous virus or plague is going on. Now I’m kind of thankful that I don’t get out that much.

That doesn’t change the fact that today’s grocery day.

Sure, I could order it, but wouldn’t that just put me at more of a risk, with contact and all?

A few moments pass by of me contemplating the cons and pros of going out.

“Ah fuck it, I’ll go tomorrow”. I huff, flipping to other channels.

Yeah, I’ll go tomorrow.
