ORDER 900

I can't give you my name. That is classified. I can't give you my place or date of birth. That is classified. I don't exist except to kill for the United States Army. That is my sole function and I am an exceptional killer. I am a Special Forces sniper. I have the Distinguished International Shooter Badge. I never shot below 248 on any test range. And, while I'll never match Simo Hayha, who could hit dead center 16 times a minute with a bolt action rifle in -40 below conditions, My kill list is a source of pride. 145 confirmed kills in the 2028 invasion of Arizona. 260 confirmed kills in the 2029 invasion of Sonora.

You can call me the Angel of Death.

Everyone else does.

My weapon of choice is the Arctic Warfare Super Magnum rifled for the .338 Lapua magnum round. It's effective range is 1500-1700 yards and it can punch through armored glass and the best body armor at 1,000 meters. Each cartridge is 3.68 inches long and delivers 61,000 pounds per square inch. The best way to think of it is, imagine 540 fire hoses, open to full pressure, hitting you all at the same time in the space of a silver dollar.

Order 900 was given at the end of the briefing on the morning of the push for La Garza. The Lieutenant locked the hangar doors and posted guards outside. My buddy, who nicknamed himself Pighog, leaned over to me and asked me if I knew what was happening? I shook my head.

The Lieutenant stood in front of us and made a speech.

"I want to speak to you of a new order that has come from Southwest Command. We all know why we are here. When the cartels started trafficking terrorists, and Phoenix became a graveyard, many of you answered the call. We took bold and decisive action that turned back the death squads and reclaimed American soil. Many of you have seen the pits where they executed women and children in retaliation for our victories on the battlefield. You are heroes and patriots. You are men and women of steel and iron. And we need you again to answer a new call. Order 900 reads as follows..."

He took out a sheet of paper and unfolded it.

"Effective immediately. All special operators in FOB Firestorm will be grouped into Police Unit H and will follow the front line, maintaining rear-guard control of the civilian population. Those civilians found to test positive for Covid-30, those who test positive for Ampinamosis, those without the X-clearance issued by the United States government, those found on the ITW list, shall be rounded up and liquidated in this police action. God bless the United States of America..."

He put the sheet of paper away. No one in my unit spoke. "We couldn't ask this of anyone else. You are warriors."
