The Poem of Pieces

O mere and weak pawn!

At the end of the board, as a queen you shall be reborn!

But be careful, for your next move,

One wrong slip and your reincarnation goes BOOM!

O courageous and brave knight!

In a series of L’s, you shall take flight!

But be cautious, as on every square,

A queen attack might just raise your hair!

O sacred and wise bishop!

To the king, your holy plan you shall pitch up!

But, for every one of your kind on the board,

A mistake in your prayer could make your spine run cold!

O protective and fierce rook!

Every second, for a hunt you look!

But, in a massive effort to protect the king,

An unseen enemy might give you a painful sting

O royal and powerful queen!

When you attack, you instantly become a menacing killing machine!

But your powers would be of no use,

If you would fall into a trap like a goose!

O great and almighty king!

To your empire, splendid plans you bring!

But be on the lookout, for as you shall see,

A loss could be inevitable if you can’t flee!

And here we are, sitting at the table,

An army shall make the other unstable!

So, to all players reading this rhyme,

I wish you the very best, so you can play and shine!
