Chapter 1 - Melissa

I squealed with excitement when she confirmed it with me, and I had to celebrate. Ever since I was little, I’ve had a strong passion for dance. Finding an apartment in the lively city center was a delightful surprise when I moved here. It was perfect.

When I took over this place, the lady who owned it only had a few classes of kids. I built the classes up and now I taught children aged 10–18-year-olds of different levels.

The weekend was nearing and with the good news from today; I arranged to meet my best friend, Bella.

“Hey girl.” I hugged Bella.

I met whilst waiting in a queue to order a coffee at the local cafe. We were both drooling over the server and started talking about how hot the guy was and ended up hitting it off and becoming fast friends.

“I need a drink.” Bella groaned as she pulled back from the hug.

“Bad day?” I cocked my head to the side.

Bella rolled her eyes. “You don’t want to know. Let’s go to Harry’s bar and have a drink, and I’ll tell you all about my day.” She linked her arm up with mine and we almost skipped to the bar.

“Ok, how about I order us cocktails then?” I wink at her, and she becomes excited.

“Oh... what’s the special occasion?”

I couldn’t help but smile. “Let’s get that drink and I’ll tell you.” Harry’s bar was a favorite place for us to go when meeting up with friends. “Two Hurricanes please.” I couldn’t help grinning at the sexy barman who was serving us.

“Coming right up, ladies.” The barman broke into a huge smile at the two of us.

Bella leans on her arm. “So, tell me.”

“Well, you know the studio where I teach my dance classes.”

“Yes, right next to that new trendy nightclub. What’s it called?” Bella clicked her fingers, thinking.

“Yes, it’s called Red Knights.” They had just put up the sign a couple of weeks ago. During the last couple of months, I had the chance to watch the club’s development as they extensively renovated and refurbished it.

“We need to go on a night out.” Bella clapped her hands together.

“Definitely, how about this Saturday?” I had been meaning to go since the club had opened. “Let’s arrange with Lola and Matt out as well. The owner of the studio has decided to sell the business, and as a result, she has extended an offer to me to purchase the place if I am interested.” Although my time in the area has been relatively short, I have gained a reputation through my dance classes.

“Wow, fantastic, are you going to take it?” Bella’s mouth hung open in shock. She knew the previous owner was looking at retiring, but not so soon. I thought it was more to do with the nightclub opening next door.

“Yes... I’ve got enough in savings to buy her out. So, we go out on Saturday night to celebrate.”

Bella got excited for me. We sat sipping on the drinks before she told me all about her day.

“Well... you know I work in the salon; we have this new girl Susan and she dyed someone’s hair. It was meant to go blonde, but she didn’t realize the woman had a red tinge already through her hair, thus turning her hair pink. We had to spend the next few hours fixing the mess.”

“Bet she didn’t want to pay in the end, either.” I chuckled.

“Bingo.” Bella swung a hand up in the air, pointing her finger as if she was pressing a bell.

“Ah! that would do your boss Rachel’s head in. Nippy cow she is. How you stay working in the place I don’t understand.” I roll my eyes as I know exactly how Rachel is.

“Yes, I’m actually looking into changing employees.” Bella put her finger up to her lips.

The later the afternoon got the tipsier the pair of us got. I thought as I needed food, I would head home. We both giggled as we got up; the alcohol had gone to our heads.

“Yes, I’ll phone you about Saturday night.” Bella shouted out as she left me.

“Cool. See you.” I blew a kiss at her.

On the way back home, I stopped by the dance studio as I wanted to pick up my camera’s which I had left. As I arrived, the club next door, the doors were open. I’ve never met who owned the place. Grabbed my case with my camera and secured the place.

As I was pulling the shutters down, a guy came out from the club entrance. Straight away, he waved at me and said hello.

I stood there, mesmerized by the breathtaking guy who had appeared. A barely audible “hello” escaped my lips, while my heart raced, pounding in my chest. I fixed my eyes on him, and I could swear my jaw had dropped, hanging open in awe.

“Are you taking over the studio?” His voice was soft yet damn sexy and his eyes lit up as he looked me up and down.

“Yes, I’ve been asked if I would like to buy the place as the current owner is selling.” I licked my lips before biting my bottom lip.

He started walking over towards me. “Good, means I hopefully see your pretty face around here more often.” He broke out into a smile.

My cheeks flushed and I could feel my body growing warmer, a result of the alcohol I had consumed with Bella. Yet, it wasn’t just the drinks that were affecting me. This guy before me exuded an undeniable attractiveness that was undeniably turning me on. As my eyes traced the tattoos adorning his neck, I couldn’t help but wonder how much of his body was a canvas for such captivating art.

“I guess. Well, my friends and I were looking at coming to the club on Saturday night.” The words tumbled out of my mouth.

“Here, take my card and text me what time you plan on coming. I’ll add you to the guest list so you can come in.” He smirked as he pulled out a business card from his back pocket.

“Wow, are you sure? This is so nice of you.”

“No problem, my darling,” he replied. As his piercing gaze locked with mine, I could sense the hint of mischief in his eyes. There was an electrifying tension between us. The faint scent of his cologne mingled with the warm ambiance of the afternoon air, heightened my awareness of how my body was reacting to him.

“Thank you, I’m Melissa, by the way.” My heart rate rocketed the closer we became.

“Jay Knight,” he said, his voice velvety and dripping with sex. Is that even possible?

As he extended a card towards me, our fingers brushed, sending a jolt of electricity through my body. I inhaled sharply, my lips instinctively finding refuge between my teeth. The surrounding air seemed to thicken, charged with an undeniable magnetism. I couldn’t help but notice the way he exuded raw sensuality, a tantalizing aura that set him apart from any man I had encountered before. And in that moment, I swear I saw a subtle bulge in his trousers, a manifestation of desire that hadn’t been there just seconds ago.

I needed to get out of here. I extended my thanks to him and then began my journey back home, constantly preoccupied with thoughts of his striking appearance. He was so incredibly attractive that I couldn’t help but fan my face to cool down and regain my composure. The news of us being on the guest list was going to drive Bella and Lola to a state of pure craziness, and I couldn’t wait to see their reaction.
