Chapter 1
Naomi stared up at the blazing hot sun, blinding her vision. The wind picked up a bit more that day, the weather reports saying a tornado may come towards here today. It wasnt new news, tornados came and went, sometimes even killing a few people. But the farm was in a ruel area, far from any socialization.
- “Naomi, dear! Come inside for dinner!” Naomi’s mother called out from outside the front door. Naomi could barely hear it from how far she was away from the house. Naomi found herself mindlessly walking through the field of crops over too her farm house. Scare crows filled the field, protecting the crops. Her hand reached for the door knob as she heard the rustling of leaves behind her. Naomi quickly entered, fearing what was outside. Though it could have easily just been her imagination. Naomi scared easily.
She hanged her jacket on the door, leaving her shoes there as well. Naomi walked towards the kitchen, picking herself up a plate on the way to the dinner table. Her parents seemed off, perhaps upset at something? If Naomi was honest the whole month felt off. Naomi and her parents ate in silence, they were usually talkative. What happened?
