David Baker, the 47th president of the United States called for a meeting with the secretary of defense Donald Anderson. David was close with Don as they go back a long way. Each working close together through their respected political careers. David wanted a uergent talk with Donald but away from the White House where too many ears were listening. David was anxious, his mind clouded with so many issues that he himself felt we're overbearing for one person. From the world being close to WW3 to unemployment at an all time high to multiple Congressmen on both sides resigning due to various scandals Baker couldn't handle anymore stress. Hes asked the secretary of state to meet at the Lincoln memorial, where he has his private security team watching from a far distance, it was 5:23 am. The president usually was up for the day around 7:10 but he couldn't sleep the night before and he needed this talk with Donald now. David was pacing waiting for his long friend to arrive. He looked up at Lincoln and thought of all he had done during his presidency and questioned if he was making the impact Lincoln did. Before he could answer that himself Donald was approaching him. "Its good to see you Don." Before he could finish Don put up his hand. " Save the small talk bullshit for another time." David could tell Don wasn't in the mood for anything but business, he wasn't a morning person so he knew whatever this was had to be serious. " Of course" The president said flat. " Im sorry to call you up so early but we got a problem." The secretary of state was even more agitated, there was always a problem, why did he need to call this meeting so early in the morning? " The world is a shit place David what else is new? This could have waited for our meeting later today. I have a full day dealing with- The president cut the secretary off as he couldn't hold in the information no more. "Gary is a pedophile." The president said as softly but as aggressively as possible. Gary Drebin, the vice president, the man who practically won baker the election by how much the public wanted him in office. Gary was a fierce leader, whos confidence was second to none. He was a friend, a confidant, a truly remarkable man. At least thats what the president thought until now. Anderson looked at baker in shocked as he never thought those words would be unttered out of his mouth. "What are you talking about? A pedophile!! Why would you say something so disgusting, what proof do you have!" Baker covered Anderson's mouth. Worrying the security team hearing. "Keep your voice down! This is why i called this meeting out here to avoid anyone else hearing this." Baker pulled his phone out. He moved to a encrypted folder that required a 3 different passwords, after he passed through he looked around to make sure noone was watching, he then covered the phone so only he and Anderson could see. Anderson still angry and confused looked down and could see a recording that looked like home security. On the video showed the vice president at home, and several men dressed in black that were all in what looked like the living room, as the vice president made a gesture one man went away and came back with what looked like a girl, who looked to be 12-14 fighting back but was overpowered by the big man, the vice president put his hand on her face and handed the man something, possibly money. The vice president takes the girl to another room and the video cuts out. Don's expression was hollow, he didnt know how to process what he just saw. He didn't know what words to use. He looked at Baker for a minute or so and finally spoke. "Where did you get that?" He was starting to shake to the point that he was practically vibrating. Baker took a deep braath, holding back angry tears. " Someone sent it to me, i don't know who, if its a single person, a group a political rival or what, but that was sent to me last night and thats why were having this meeting." Don still didnt know what to think, Gary was the one who wanted to take extra precautions when it came to border control and what children have access to so they didnt get kidnapped or harassed by predators. None of this made sense. He was in denial, this wasnt who Gary was there had to be something. " Okay but there's gotta be something, maybe its not what it seems maybe its just a fake video." Tears were coming down from bakers eyes. He had to pull himself together because this whole thing made him a wreck. Wiping the tears away he finally spoke. " There's more vidoes Don, some with enough shit on it to send him to the chair. I don't wanna make you see what i saw, but someone else was on there. It was one of our biggest endorsees." Don didnt have to think long, governer kerry fields of Iowa, another man who was behind the restrictions Gary wanted to put in for child saftey. Don's emotions were on red now. He now was understanding how serious baker was. " He was on the tape?" He said softly. Baker nodded. " Along with several other men i don't know who they are. I feel like a disgrace seeing the things that were sent to me don." The president was now bawling, the situation was bringing him to a mental state that he couldn't in a thousand lifetimes ever thought he would have to go through.Don handed him a handkerchief, giving who he consideried his friend a moment to recover. Baker wiped his tears and said, " i dont know what i would have done if i saw you on that video. I wanna burn my eyes out, i never wanted to see anything like that." I understand" said don. "Ill alert the FBI on this" but baker grabbed him by the arm with an intense grip. " We cant do that. " He said now sounding angry more than anything. He was hurting dons arm at this point Don tried to pull away but baker's grip was strong. " Why the hell not? You said it yourself he was doing horrific things, we have proof why wouldn't we alert the authorities?" Baker while still holding on collected his thoughts, trying to answer calming and still without drawing the security teams attention. " Do you realize how this will make us look? And im not just talking about my presidency but also America in general? That people all the way up at the top are nothing more than child loving fucks?!" Baker rasied his voice no longer caring about security. " And do they expect us not to know? Will be forced to resign, the united nations wont just let us handle this either, what if they decide to denounce us?" Don finally broke free of his grip. After adjusting his suit jacket and fixing his glasses, he tried talking the president down. " Were not gonna get denounced it won't go that far but you're right, this could make us look bad or worse, call for resignation. But we can't just leave it alone. So what do we do? Baker looked at don with a serious face, he was planning something, something they both knew wasnt legal. " Remember when i proposed that bill to congrass that didnt get passed?" Baker was talking about forming another branch in the army, an in between the police and military that covered the us grounds and foreign lands, but the bill was denied because the president wanted to give this unit more freedom than any other branch, to the point that their motives could be viewed as terrorism. Don wasn't in favor of the bill, as he himself saw it as barbaric and too much like a spy movie that didnt have realistic expectations. " You're not serious are you? That bill wasnt passed for a reason David, we can't just have a military branch that can go where they want when they want without proper approval, what you proposed was chaotic, it was arrogant. It was everything our citizens and other counties alike complain about what we are, a country that gets involved in every war." This will be different, they wont answer to noone, expect us, they wont be an official group we will use them to get rid of this problem, we can't get this out so will make it seem like an accident, we don't have to let the world know what he was but we gotta stop this, take him out and end this before it gets out. Thats what the Sub Rosa Unit is, a group that stops terrorists activities before the public every gets word about it." Don still not sold looked blankly at his commander in chief like he was a lunatic. " You want to fight illegal activities with illegal activities?" Yes i do, its what i wanted when i proposed it and its what i want now. Will you help me with this or are you against me?" The secretary of defense took a deep breath and thought about his options, none were what he wanted but he accepted what the president was proposing out of loyalty. " Okay David, ill help you but on one condition. " The president had a frown on his face what could it be. " We arent affiliated with them, if they get captured i want insurance that this doesnt come back on us." The president nodded in agreement. " Do whatever you feel is necessary to make it happen, we have to stop this very quietly and thoroughly." Don nodded and started to walk away. "Oh and Don." The secretary of state turned around to see what Baker had to say. Recure the hostages and burn everything bit of property gray has. Make it look like a suicide. I want him nothing of him left nor do i want any questions asked after the fact." It made don sick to his stomach but he said nothing and walked away out of the president's sight.
