Rogue (Backstory)

Have you ever felt like you pissed off someone you never met in person before? If you have, welcome to the fucking club. Ever since I became an adult, which in my society is 16, I have been legally married to Sylas Cross. But, the funniest part, is that we never met. Not before we got “married”, or after. Hell, I’m 24 and I still haven’t met him. We really are married only on paper. Well, I’m now 24. And a Rogue. I guess I should tell you how I ended up this way.

“Kais!” My aunt yelled for me from down the stairs.

I went down and was greeted by unhappy faces.

“Something wrong?” I asked.

My uncle slammed a paper down on the table, and gave me a pen. “Flint Cross has requested your divorce from his son.”

I paused for a second. Why would the person who set up this marriage want to end it? Though, I guess we never really knew each other, so a divorce wouldn’t matter much. I grabbed the pen and signed. “Here.” They grabbed the paper and my Uncle left with it.

God, why was I so fucking dumb at 19. Yes, it was a marriage set by our families, but, it turns out my ex-husband believed divorce was our choice. I continuously got letters from him, and, I made the choice to ignore them all. My pack would still be alive if I read them. I would have known that he threatened to destroy my pack to get to me. And, he did. I ran. I had better survival skills than pretty much everyone else in my pack, but I was always worried.

I am currently living in a town with multiple types of other creatures, but, I feel as though I am missing something. I think my ex-husband was still looking for me, and at this point, I don’t think there is many more places for him to check to find me. And after what he did to my family and pack, I have no choice but to run. I have always been good at hide and seek. Let’s just hope those skills don’t fail me now.
