What if Kara x Aiden was a thing?
Aru's POV
" Ugh, they're at it again. " groaned Brynne, visibly annoyed.
Without even looking up from my cookies and cream falooda, I could tell who Brynne was talking about. Aiden Acharya, and Kara Shah. Two fellow Potatoes who were currently dating each other. And who were extremely obnoxious about it. They were laughing and touching foreheads, and whispering things to each other. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against either of them, but do they really have to do the "Ooh, pookie bear, I love you soooo much. " act in public?
"Aru?" asked Mini in a soft voice. "Are you okay? With them doing this? After..."
I knew what Mini was referring to, and so did Brynne, Nikita, and Sheela. Rudy was clueless, as usual.
"Guys. I'm fine! " I said, with a smile on my face. "They want to be a couple? I'm happy for them" It was true.
Yes, I was crushed when it happened, and I did myself to sleep for a month. But I'm over it. Right?
6 months ago...
Today's the day! The day I'll go and confess to Aiden! "Come on Aru, you can do this!" I said, motivating myself.
I had a plan. I was finally going to tell Aiden how I felt about him! As I walked to the park where we would meet, I thought about how he would react. Would he reject me? I hoped not... Oop! I'm here! And I see Aiden! I stopped as I realized that he was with someone else... He was with Kara. They were laughing and smiling, and then, they kissed.
My stomach dropped. I ran home with tears falling down my face.
The next day, Kara and Aiden announced that they were officially a couple. I cried myself to sleep that night. And the night after. And the night after.
I shuddered as the memories came back to me. I was not going to think about that now.
"Guys, I'm going home, I feel sick." I said, not wanting to stay.
"Do you want me to come with you, Aru?" asked Mini. "I knew that cookies and cream falooda would not sit well. Especially after the 2 family size packs of Swedish Fish."
"No, I don't want you guys to leave because of me." I replied.
Without waiting for an answer, I turned around and walked home. I slowly picked up my pace, until I was running.
I guess I wasn't looking where I was going, because I suddenly bumped into something, or someone. I looked up, and saw a guy, probably at least 8 inches taller than me.
"Sorry," I said, with a sheepish expression on my face. "I guess I should really watch where I'm going."
"It's okay, " he said with a chuckle. "Happens to the best of us. I'm Aarush." he said with a charming smile, as he held out his hand for me to shake.
I smiled back and shook his hand, "I'm Aru." I replied.
"Just Aru?" he asked.
"Just Aru." I said with a smile.
I had a feeling that this would be the beginning of something new...
