Chapter 1
My name is Sylvester James. I’m thirty-one years old and I live with my father, Harvey. I have red hair and brown eyes like my Dad. We were both wizards. We could cast spells and make potions. We had telekinesis, force fields, fire came out of our hands, and we could transform objects with a touch.
My parents got divorced a few years ago. My mother is verbally abusive, which is why when my father told me they were getting divorced it was one of the happiest days of my life. Because she is my mother I couldn’t talk back to her. I hated having to keep my opinion to myself. She left us and we didn’t see her anymore.
I was playing guitar in my room when Dad walked in. “Hey, kid,” he said.
“Hey.”
“What are you doing?”
