"What a really great second book in the series, as expected it is very well written and edited. The smooth, flowing writing style makes this author’s work so easy and comfortable to read that it’s like sinking into an easy chair. I wasn’t sure how much I would get from this as it was based a millennia beforehand however it linked seamlessly, but with its own cast and crew. Yet again I didn’t particularly warm to the male lead but the supporting characters stole my heart and the female lead was a strong independent woman that was truly not to be messed with! Another exceptionally imaginative and gripping story from this wonderful author, I cannot wait to read the next book 😬🙈"

"First of all, the character development in this novel was one of the beautiful figurative fuels for the overall plot and I LOVED this sequel! Badass and 'feral yet fabulous and flourishing' females! (Don't mind that hint of alliteration) 😅. The bold and dominant men, TRUE MEN who prioritize others over themselves and nourish more resilience! In addition. the inclusion of vampires, werewolves, witches, humans as that diverse range of what highlights the (in my arrogant opinion), the utmost significance in fantasy/drama novels as I can slowly grasp that after finishing two of Jessica's books so far! "This had a spin on usual stories involving wolves, but it was refreshing. I loved seeing the connections of the world with the first story, while also feeling like its own story entirely. I usually don’t care for going backwards in time as I continue with a series, but this wasn’t bothersome at all because of that. I look forward to starting the next and finally dive deeper into the story that’s been brewing in the background of these first two. 😍"

"Oh wow. I put off reading this for a bit as it was a “prequel” to The Blind witch which I loved. Couldn’t get myself to think the prequel would be nearly as good but boy was I wrong. Still thinking about a break before I read the story of Nyx but then maybe not. I can’t figure out how you were able to write these backwards. Amazing story, amazing characters that make love then hate then love them again. Keep up the fantastic writing and never ever worry about how many words you are using. Then deeper you go into the characters the more you pull us in with you. "
