Trance

There she sat

With a pen in her hand

Scrawling words across a piece of paper

Creating worlds beyond others imagination

The "real" world kept moving around her

She stayed unchanged

She didn't see the glances and whispered words thrown her way

Her drink sat untouched to her left

She wrote

And wrote

To the point her hand started to cramp up

She didn't stop

Her butt was numb

And her legs were pins and needles

She didn't stop

Her back was on fire

Light was fading from the sky

Her hair fell delicately into her face

She brushed it away

She didn't stop

The worker came and tapped her shoulder

Only then did she stop

She looked up

The trance she had been in was broken

She looked as if she was just woken from a deep sleep

Her dream long lost

She looked confused as her surroundings slowly faded into her minds consciousness

She eyed everything as if looking for a key or a missing puzzle piece

Seeing nothing

She was lost
