Chapter 1: Synopsis
Sydney Townsend, a 39 year old woman living in LA has just ended an eight year marriage with her husband. She is conflicted about her own sexuality, currently brought to light after seeing a sex therapist. She also has always had a love for the supernatural, a freelance artist and aspiring writer although very talented and driven struggling to make it. She especially has an interest in vampires, learning that they may be more real than she ever thought to believe. After receiving an email from an unknown source, she is invited to what appears to be a regular bar. However it is revealed to be a blood bar in the city, Nocturne, tending to vampires using willing human donors of rare blood types.
Compelled by this email Sydney goes to the bar one night, there meeting a beautiful woman of mystery, Natalia King. The woman shares with Sydney that she and her family are centuries old vampires who own this blood donor business, famous in LA to immortals and supernatural lovers alike. Natalia is immediately drawn to the human woman. But she also has a secret she’s keeping from Sydney, introducing her to the underground world of the supernatural as well as revealing the truth. In the end the pair make a choice that creates an extremely dangerous situation for the both of them.
After a series of events, Sydney is given a rare proposal, to be a house donor for the King family. In exchange they offer her an opportunity she cannot refuse for both her safety and her own personal desires. Natalia tries to hide her true feelings for Sydney. According to the laws of the supernatural, it is forbidden for vampires to be mated with humans. Natalia tries to prevent any further connection to the girl, to protect Sydney from ending up dead due to the rules of her world or simply her monstrous desire for the human and her blood. Yet as they spend more time together an uncontrollable connection of understanding, chemistry and passion continues to grow between the two women, the reasoning of Sydney’s stay becoming more complex.
Natalia introduces Sydney to a life of luxury as well as helping her further explore her sexuality and passions, making both of their desires spiral out of control. Is there truly more to this relationship than host and blood donor? Than sexual desire and blood lust? What dangers await for them as they explore this dangerous love affair?
