„Als ich den Blick hob und in sein Gesicht sah, stachen seine Augen besonders heraus. Ich war unschlüssig, welche Farbe sie hatten. Je nachdem, wie das Licht auf sie fiel, schimmerten sie mal grau, dann wieder blau. Es hatte etwas an sich, was wohl jeden, der es sah, in seinen Bann ziehen konnte und für einen Moment verlor ich mich in ihnen. ,Die Augen sind der Spiegel zur Seele', wie es so oft hieß. Wirkten seine Augen blau konnte ich in ihm fast Menschlichkeit erkennen, welche ihm meiner Ansicht nach aufgrund seiner abscheulichen Taten fehlte, denn wirkten seine Augen grau erkannte ich die Kälte ihn ihm, genauso wie die Gewissenlosigkeit, vor der ich einst gewarnt wurde und den Hass, der ihn vorantrieb." Wieder neu anzufangen, um am Ende wieder ganz oben zu stehen.

Doch was kann man tun, um aus der eigenen Hilflosigkeit des freien Falls gerettet zu werden?

Was kann man noch tun, außer zu hoffen, am Grund aufgefangen zu werden?

Die Antwort ist nichts.

Man konnte nichts tun.

Was konnte ich also noch tun, als ich an den Abgrund getrieben wurde und niemand da war?

Als niemand unten auf mich wartete?

Als ich mich nicht aus eigener Kraft von dort befreien konnte?

Ich konnte nur fallen.

Fallen und hoffen, dass mir jemand seine Hand reichen würde, auch wenn all meine Hoffnungen vergebens schienen.

Ich werde da unten sterben.
