Chapter 1
“Why, Why did you do that?” I whisper, tears trickling down my cheeks. My hands tremble with the intense cold. I shake violently and the cold wind seeps into me.
“I trusted you and what did you do in return? Hah, I loved you. You heard it, I loved you.” I throw my sword down and hold him by his collar and shake him.
I am done, so done with everyone with life. I feel like it’s just me that god wants to test. He places all kinds of greater burdens on my shoulders and they weigh even more than the mountains of the world.
“Go, just go. I don’t want to see you anymore.” I am lying. I want you near me.
He still does not speak. Not even a goodbye.
He takes one step followed by another as he moves back. And turns around to go but then stops. I desperately wish that he would stop, tell me the truth and beg me and you know believe me, I would forgive him.
He looks back at me and smirks. His eyes were cold, lifeless. He looks up at the sky, as cold white sparkles fall from the sky.
He takes steps towards me and hugs me. I hug him back, welcoming the warmth. Although the night is cold, my insides are even colder. And he’s the only one that can warm them.
“I love you, Alora. And I am sorry.” His deep soothing voice reaches my ear and I feel him breathing near my lungs.
I break the hug, but still keep my hands around his neck. “What are you sorry for?”
“I am sorry for everything.” he chokes as his throat clogs up with tears. I shake my head and hug him, my own eyes piling up tears of pain, as he continues. “For everything I have done in the past and what I am going to do now.”
I frown my eyebrows and am about to pull back when he pulls back first and attaches his lips with mine. He kisses me softly, licking my lips and asking for permission to enter his tongue into my mouth.
Why is he sorry about kissing me? Isn’t this magical, the ground covered with white piles of diamonds, me wearing a white gown, the princess of the kingdom of Astraea, kissing her Commander in chief, Rune.
But nothing seems magical or magnificent as I see down and look at the red covering my white gown. I look at the silver blade sticking in and slowly look at the hand holding the blade in and trail my eyes slowly up to the owner holding it in.
The pain spreads through my body, as I stare into his eyes. He closes his eyes and opens them again, tears trail down both of our eyes. He twisted the blade further into me and felt my soul trying to escape this pain and leave.
I grab into his arms as I let out loud cries, and he hugs me close to himself but still does not take the blade out.
“I am sorry, I am sorry.” he whispers repeatedly in my ears. “Forgive me, let’s meet in our next life.”
I look at him and stare into his eyes. “I don’t forgive you, and I hope we never meet again, never not in my next every life and even if I survive.”
He chuckles, and kisses my lips. “Darling, your lips are as dry as the soil of earth and it’s freezing cold, your body can’t bear this. And remember I am the only one who has control over you and will find you in your every life. Now be quiet.”
I stare at him, why did I fall in love with a maniac.
Well guess what the maniac does not. He slowly with me in his arms lowers us both down onto the ground.
“ You know, don’t delay in killing me now. I am waiting.” I widen my eyes and look at him. How does he know? Did he hear it?
I feel a lot weaker and my breath ceases to stop as I take the dagger out of the pocket of my gown and gulp.
My hands shaking violently, as I stab him in the chest. Just direct his heart. He crashes his lips onto mine, and makes me swallow down his scream. The kiss stops my supply of oxygen and my eyes feel droopy. On the other hand, I feel my lover’s forehead drop onto mine and his warm breath stopping.
That night, two bodies were found. Arms around each other and their blood making a puddle around them, and staining the white blanket of snow.
Well, none would believe who they were.
But in reality everyone knew.
The princess of the kingdom of Astraea
and the
commander in chief.
