Chapter 1-The arrival

“You know Jonas, I don’t think that this is the best idea you had.” Sammy was carrying an Ouija board as well as a handbag on her shoulder for her belongings, like her phone, wallet, onward. They were in the car park walking towards the theatre, the only car insight was Jonas’s, if you stopped strolling on the wet concrete you have a chance of hearing faint crickets in the overgrown grass.

“I’m sure it is fine!” Jonas smiled at Sammy which reassured her slightly, there was graffiti all along the incinerated walls up towards a limit of where people couldn’t reach on foot any longer. Some trees were surrounding the building, some were within the reach of the fire and were set ablaze, now having an ashy effect.

“You know, there was supposedly a ballet happening while the building was in flames.” Sammy mentioned she did do some research last week as Jonas had planned to come to this theatre to check if it had a connection with the paranormal, for the lives that had been lost to the light, hence why Sammy was carrying an Ouija board. She didn’t believe in the paranormal, when it came to her searching for some Ghouls anyway.

Before their plan to investigate the theatre for some paranormal activities, at their school, SilverMorn, in history they got a brief statement on what happened at the theatre as their teacher Mr Cols, talked about it as he was trailing away from what they were actually learning.

Jonas on the other hand was in his own world when Mr Cols was talking about the theatre, therefore he didn’t know a single thing until Sammy talked about it after class.

“You mean the one you talked about that one time?” Jonas looked over to Sammy, unlike her he didn’t in fact do much to any research, as far as he knew was what Sammy talked about after history, which was word for word from what Mr Cols was on about. They got to the front entrance of the building, the building had double dark oak doors, the bottom upwards towards the middle section was a dark coal-black from the after-effect of the flames. As the stainless steel Stanchion with red rope was on either side of the double doors, the once coloured red rope was now a singular thick thread, the colour of a raven. Sammy had an unsettling feeling from the look of the place already.

“Yeah, I’m surprised you remembered, you’re usually in your own world when I’m talking about things from history, most of the time anyway.” She adds, as she then holds out the Ouija board in front of him.

“Here you can hold it, I ain’t holding this ghost communication board any longer.”

Jonas takes it while chuckling at how she called the Ouija board, though she wasn’t half wrong. The Ouija Board is a board to communicate to the ghouls. While Jonas was chuckling Sammy was walking off towards the building, he didn’t notice till she was opening the dark oak doors.

“Wait for me atleast.” He was soon stopped chuckling as he speed walks towards Sammy and the dark oak doors, as the sound of raindrops landing onto the red awning above the entrance to the theatre, turning the vibrant red into a more darker red where the raindrops had landed, they barely were able to miss being caught in the rain.

As they opened one of the doors the sound of them stepping on the wet concrete changed to them now on a red rug, which hardly looked red from the ashes of objects being burnt around. The theatre itself had an unwelcoming aura, as if it was telling them to leave the second they arrived onto the property.

“I would rather stand outside than here.” Sammy was just being as honest as she could at this point, Jonas was looking over towards the posters with a border outlining them, showing the next week's plays.

“Swan Lake? I’m guessing that it is a ballet show then.” Jonas states while looking at the posters detail, It had 2 people on either side, the lady on the left with blonde hair in a high bun with a white like snow tutu and pointe shoes is supposed to represent the white swan. The other lady, who is on the right has black hair in a low bun with a tutu and pointe shoes black like obsidian is to represent the black swan.

The outer edges of the poster were crippled, the lady on the right was hardly seen from the cinder.

“The last show that performed as well.” Sammy hadn't moved much from the entrance; her eyes had made contact with a chandelier in the centre of the floor, with shattered bones underneath. “Such a tragic death, for many.” Sammy was mainly talking to herself out loud, while looking at the bones splattered across the red ashy rug surrounding the chandelier.

Jonas wasn’t paying attention to what Sammy was saying, most of the time he doesn’t anyway, as he was peering into the ticket booth nearby, the outside was damaged but the inside was as if it was newly built, the door wouldn’t budge from the flames getting to the hinges.

“The last performance?” He looked over to her, soon to follow the direction of her eyes, seeing the chandelier and the shattered bones scattered making it indescribable of which bone is located on a human body.

“That is something.” Jonas murmured while walking towards the chandelier as he was looking closely towards the bones.

Then there was a bone revealed that stood out the most, it was the jaw of a skull, laying there. “I’m going to explore here, I'd rather not stare at bones.” She was a bit disgusted by the bones as she went towards a room with a small writing on a sign on the front of it reading ‘Staff Room’.

“Oh come on Sam, it's not everyday you see human bones, crushed by a chandelier.” Jonas was examining the bones as he looked over to Sammy, who was striding towards the staff room. “That's because it's very unlikely for a chandelier to crush a person.”

The paint was still cripple peeling away from the concrete beyond the dried paint; some concrete is chipped to the point some of the wooden structure is revealed. She was able to open the partly damaged door to the staff room, revealing the room to be undamaged.

“So, which room are we doing ‘ghost communication’ in?” Jonas had now followed Sam while now in the doorway between the main room and the staff room, while holding the Ouija board in his hand.

Everything seemed normal, for a staff room anyway, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Sammy started to go through a drawer full of files which was tucked away in a corner. Jonas was looking around the room, “Pretty fancy for a staff room, wouldn’t you agree?” Soon he caught a glimpse of a piece of paper,

“What’s this?”

The piece of paper was on the table with stools around it, it was Morse code. “Yeah I agree.” She responded as she walked away from the drawer of files and towards Jonas, who was holding the piece of paper in his hand. “Morse code? Was that a thing 7 years ago?” Sammy was a bit confused while staring at the piece of paper, Jonas just shrugs not having a clue if it was or not.
