I was walking to school on my first day of 6th grade. I breathed in the fresh air that I had been breathing in for the last 6 years, but it somehow felt incredibly unusual today . I ignored that thought in my head and continued walking down Daffodil Road, the leaves crunching at my heels as I did so. I could feel my golden hair flowing over my shoulders and as my golden brown skin adapted to the cold weather. I finally got to Dilly’s Food and Wine. It was a blue shop which I had been going to for a couple of months now. The owner had just moved in recently and she was very nice, she would always give kids free lollipops whenever they came in. I went inside and brought a pack of gum and an energy drink. I took a piece of gum out and started chewing while walking when I suddenly noticed a girl who I thought had a strange uniform on for the first day of school. She wore a purple dress, with a glittering pink heart embroidered on the side and had purple combat boots with a flash of pink on the sides of her tights. She turned around the corner and I did too, curious why. She glanced back to see if anyone had followed, as she did so I ducked behind a black dumpster, watching her closely. She took a weird gold looking key, and put it into the wall. I was shocked at what had just opened, it was a pink, gloomy whirlpool in the wall, probably a portal. At that moment I didn’t think and jumped in , being sucked in at the speed of light. All I could see was a zoom of colours flying past me. It felt like my heart was stuck in my throat and my stomach was on a rollercoaster. I opened my eyes as a gust of wind met me and I landed with a hard thud on my back. I was riding this sort of creature, with long whiskers and purple wings, it was like a sky serpent, just like the books I read at home. I closed my eyes hoping that it was just a dream and I would just wake up in my nice warm bed, then I remembered the girl and the whirlpool. I opened my eyes again only to find I was still on the serpent. I looked down and saw a long row of castles with people surrounding them. As I was watching, the serpent started to go down, landing softly on the ground. I got off it and started to walk through the crowds of people. When I finally got to the front, I saw a lady who looked very familiar but I wasn’t sure exactly who she was. She stood at the top of a marble stairway wearing a blue ball gown with white stripes at the bottom. Her tiara was light blue and was covered in blue rubies and blue Sapphires. She cleared her voice “Hello Students and teachers and welcome to another year of Magical High. I am so glad that you are back and hope that you will be good and have a good year! Timetables will be handed out when all of you are in your dorms, and all entries for prefects and heads will be given at the front desk of your category. I’ll be looking forward to seeing you all this year.!” I looked around and all of a sudden, I bumped into “a fairy?” I said surprised. She was wearing a gold short dress with a lemon coloured band. Her shoes were khaki gold flats. “Yes, Hi I’m Blayne, and your….?” She paused for a while waiting for me to answer “Oh yes, I’m Izzy″ I said, coming back to my senses, “Who is that lady up there?” I asked curiously! “Uhm.. that’s headmistress Saphire!” Her tone seemed surprised that I wasn’t familiar with her. I thanked her and continued walking through the crowd, thoughts rushing through my head at a hundred miles per second! Everything seemed weird today.
