The Southeastern Project: School of Unexplained Phenomenons

Crystalline Academy appeared out of nowhere, and not even the founders know of its origins. This sets a very extraordinary predicament. Dr. Ryan Santiago and Jackie Owens have been conducting years of continuous research to try to figure out the origins of the enchanted building they stumbled upon. Now having grasped their fascinating discovery, they then decide to conduct an extensive experiment on how the obscure nature of the building affects those that inhabit it. This study has been dubbed "The Southeastern Project," named after the region in which their finding has been discovered.
After multiple attempts, various findings and even some breakthroughs, they are convinced that they are now getting closer to figuring out the mystery. The founders are also pleased with the incredible findings of their conducted experiment. Within the span of their project, they turn the mysterious building into a boarding school. They recruit younger orphans and indoctrinate them to become exceptional students, trained on the arts of harnessing magic, which has been adopted due to the school's nature. Their students know nothing more than what is inside the academy walls. They are taught to believe that Crystalline is a gift by the gods, and that they are the fortunate who get to attend.
This comes with some costs.
All is well, until a very unorthodox Friday morning sets in, causing a shift in the school's environment. A sudden magic outburst causes the death of a star pupil and it raises concerns. And even far more questions. Jessica Wu, stunned by the incident decides to question the schools faulty magic that has once surrounded the school harmoniously and dares to be the one to figure out what is going on. She does this much to the dismay of her classmates, and under the guise of the school staff. Jessica, whose main goal was to solve the mystery as to why the schools sudden magic outburst occurred in the first place, soon realizes that she's in for far more than she anticipated. She decides to recruit her school's infamous underdogs and together they start to unravel a series of unsolved scandals.
