The Beginning of The End

— "I achieved." - Ethan said. He stood up from his chair, leaning on its arms, and then clapped both hands together. He put the index finger of his left hand to his ear and touched it to his communication device — "Boss, I managed to access all of the Foundation's passwords." - said Ethan, emphasizing the word "all" - "Great, Ethan. Tomorrow you will go to the Foundation. Is that understood?" - asked Mr. Harrynson - "Understood, sir." - Ethan responded. He bent over the computer, entered his password, and then turned it off. He organized his work desk, pushed his chair forward, took his locker keys from his pocket, opened the locker, took his backpack from his locker and put it on his back. Then, he closed the locker; he locked it and left his office, slamming the door behind him. He walked calmly to the nearest elevator, clicked the button and started waiting for the elevator to go up.

His co-worker, Thomas, who Ethan didn't even consider to be his co-worker, came over and "leaned" on Ethan's shoulder — "Hello, kid. Did you do anything interesting today?" - asked Thomas. Ethan didn't answer him — "Hey, kid. I'm talking to you." - said Thomas, slightly increasing the tone of his voice - "I don't care, Thomas." - Ethan responded, treating Thomas the way Ethan thought he should be treated, without showing any expression or emotion on his face. Outraged, Thomas tried to answer him in an ignorant way, too — "How is it, brat? Who are you to treat me like this?" - asked Thomas, furious - "I'm your boss's brother, worm." - Ethan said - "I don't care either, child." - replied Thomas - "You must know a lot of things about me, don't you, brat? Then you must know..." - said Thomas, taking something from his left pocket - "... that I killed all the people who were in my path.” - Thomas continued, threatening Ethan with a knife to his throat. Ethan then smiled — "Go ahead, Thomas. Kill me. But know that you will regret it immediately." - Ethan said, making fun of Thomas. Instantly, Thomas stepped back and put the knife in his left pocket again — "I don't kill brats." - Thomas replied, with an indifferent expression on his face - "You've already killed a lot of "brats", Thomas. You just didn't stick that knife in my neck, because you know that you would be executed by my brother soon after. Who, in fact, is watching you on the cameras right now." - said Ethan, his empty smile remaining on his face - "Are there cameras here?!" - asked Thomas, shouting in terror. As soon as he finished, Harrynson's voice could be heard over the room's speakers — "Employee 52, Thomas Lamber, I'll be waiting for you in my office." - Harrynson said. You could see the terror on Thomas' face at that moment — "Good luck, Mr. Lamber.

You'll need it.

" - said Ethan, making fun of Thomas - "I-I hate you, boy." - said Thomas - "I'm happy, Thomas. See you never again." - Ethan then said goodbye. The elevator doors then opened, and Ethan stepped inside. He clicked on the button that corresponded to the ground floor and waited for the doors to close again. Ethan still had that smile on his face as he looked at Thomas's eyes, which were watering. The elevator doors then closed and the elevator began to descend.
