"Even though this is a werewolf story with fated mates, it is completely different to the rest. The universe that the author has created is well thought out and imaginative and the two MCs are relatable. Their connection and their emotional turmoil is beautifully portrayed. A must read for you if you are a lover of werewolf romance, enemy to lovers trope and good wholesome love-against-all-odds story but still like to be surprised. I’m sure you’ll be re-reading it like me, because you are bound to crave a refresher before book 2. Good job author and I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here. "

"Was not sure of this story at first, then pleasantly surprised and now look forward to Book 2. The beginning is a little different but definitely is explained throughout the story development. There are some typographical errors but sometimes great minds can type too fast when the story just flows. I enjoyed reading this book. It also reinforced my belief that everyone deserves second chances in their lives. "
Nice Characters
"I really enjoyed this story so far. It's a refreshing take to have both sides so sympathetically written. I appreciate that the main characters are all good people and it's not one of those stories where I'm constantly wringing my hands wondering why someone would put up with xyz. Even with the misunderstandings, the character's motivations make sense. I like the setting of this being in a war and the human government and all it's propaganda gives the story a dark feel that made it more interesting to dive right into. Looking forward to part 2! "

"I'm so glad I picked up Under The Crescent Veil. It's a refreshing take on the werewolf genre with strong character development, a well-crafted storyline, and plenty of suspense. The author introduces the concept of fated mates in a unique way that stays true to the classic idea but allows the characters' relationship to develop more slowly, creating added suspense. The main romance is particularly fascinating. I’m a fan of the opposites-attract trope, and I love how the author flips it by making Alpha Sylis the warm and approachable character. His patience and charm make him incredibly lovable. Nyx is also well-written with a strong personality, and the author's portrayal of her vulnerability makes her endearing. ( I absolutely love her) Can't wait to read Part 2 Overall, I highly recommend this story. I’m excited to see how their relationship unfolds!"

A wonderful binge-read
"Nyx is a stern, ruthless soldier programmed by an organization known as the HPS, which has only one goal in mind: Rid the world of werewolves. But what happens when Nyx is captured by her enemy, only to find out that the leader of the pack, Alpha Silas, is her mate? I had to find out, which is why I ended up binge-reading this novel in two days. When I say I could not put it down, I mean I read it every moment I had. The author does an amazing job of gripping you from the start with her crafty storytelling as you follow Nyx's story. This isn't your typical werewolf x romance story either. It's filled with sweet moments between Nyx and Silas without needing to be overtly sexual, making the blossoming of their relationship a breath of fresh air. I truly enjoyed this novel, and encourage fans of werewolves to give this uniquely creative read a try! "

What every werewolf story should be. (10 chapters read)
"The story uses the enemies-to-lover trope but reversed the sunny vs grumpy trope. A human FMC fighter and werewolf Alpha MC are fated mates. The seemingly simple case of 'will they, won’t they,' is an excellent read due to the character development based on forming a bond based on trust. There was no, ‘mate, mine,’ Alphahole behavior, and raging hormones driving the relationship. Kudos on that. I enjoyed the slower journey of self-discovery and shedding prejudices to find love in unexpected places. Alpha Sylis is loveable, patient, and a good guy who has his act together. *chef's kisses*. Nyx is introduced as a badass fighter. The only grip I had was that she is tortured but felt no pain. The sassy remarks didn't help. It reduced her to a cliche tough guy. In the next chapter, it is mentioned she is in pain, but it is never shown. Having broken a rib, I know how much that hurts. A bit of realism would’ve made Nyx a lot less of a cliche. Her life was tough, and her being brainwashed by the evil human military out to eradicate the werewolves, contrasted with the pack life, and her noticing that makes her really likable and more 'human'. Nyx's desire to spy on the enemy is also a sensible yet smart. I really liked her being so focussed. I loved it as far as I read it, and will continue. In an ocean of cliche werewolf insta-love stories, this is an exceptional balance of a love story and strong character development with a dash of suspense. "

Truly Amazing
"This book immediately grabs your attention. From the first chapter, it had made an emotional connection to me and I think that connection and finding something to relate to between readers and books are so important! Although I am not done reading it, I just know the rest will not disappoint! There are some errors grammatically but nothing crazy. Who doesn’t make typos sometimes? And as to the storyline, although it has been seen a lot of humans being mated to a wolf who should be their enemy, it is still truly well done! In this genre, so many things have already been written that can be related to other books. But this doesn't diminish the fact that it is a lovely read! Well done! I can’t wait to finish the rest!"

If you like werewolves, mates and forbidden bonding, this is the story for you. The FMC is a complete badass, and very fierce. I cannot wait for more chapters. "Under The Crescent Veil is a fantastic world on the edge of war between humans and werewolves. Orthogonal parallels in reality abound from this story. Nyx, a young human woman who had her family, her parents that is, riped from her as a child, murdered by soldiers in a war, was as two dimensional as a black and white photo. Raised by a military special operations unit of humans at war with the Lycan packs. She knew little else. After she was captured by Silas by the Alpha’s pack he realizes she is his fated mate by a mark on her neck and he must marry her. She had no relationships with men, looking like a man herself by her haircut, soldier clothing and walking gate. Her time at Silas’ pack gave her a touch of old feelings, feelings that she developed when she was a child and her parents were still alive. A time she couldn’t remember, but could still feel on her skin. It had left an imprint that became clearer the longer she was away from her unit. This two dimensional character grows into her voluminous third dimension as she struggles to make sense of it all. Thank you for writing!"

"This is one of the best books on the Inkitt app. This author truly gives her all; delves into her characters as if they’re real people, giving Nyx true life and allowing her to be relatable to many people. Beyond this, she offers an impeccable plot lot, much different than most novels and brings true ingenuity to the writing world. The book will make you a better reader or writer if you give it a try. A strong opening!
"Werewolf is not typically my genre, but I find the first two chapters of this work very strong. It is easy to read and build up the world quite nicely and the heroine Nyx is easy to root for. It's quite evident that this is written by someone who's been writing for a while and knows the craft. I love the way the author describes the military aspect of the setting and the sense of urgency behind every word, and I can't find anything to critique for now. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to reading more!"

I am having trouble putting Under the Crescent Veil down. Every time I pick it up, I plan on just reading a little, but before I know it, I am reading several chapters, wanting to find out what is going to happen. I can not wait to read more!! I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!! "

"I had only planned on starting off with the first few chapters before writing this review, but I physically could not put it down! There was a ton of detailed descriptions that helped fully develop the scene the characters were surrounded in. Each of the characters were extremely well thought out. There were several high points within the story, and also low points that shocked me. I am quite literally on the edge of my seat in anticipation for the next chapters. I want to see this happy ending! Side note: highly, HIGHLY recommend this story. It's so well-done."

Nyc is a well-written character and I would be interested in a stand-alone hunters-only book now LOL. Just to see their inner workings. I recommend this one to all those looking for a unique story.
