Author's Notes
Unlike my previous two stories, this one is totally new and not one I had revised recently after writing it in my high school years. It is from a genre I loved the most when I was a little girl finding herself in writing;historical fantasy royal kingdoms with bitter queens looking for happiness and complicated love affairs. I am not great with policy, conspiracies or mind blowing plot twists but I needed to write something to ease my mind from the multiple anxieties and bouts of depression I have been going through. In fact, despite it being a royal fantasy story, it deals mostly with domestic affairs and aims in general to reveal what is the true meaning of being "a man" and to what extent true love and admittance of responsibility can guide forgiveness along the theme of contentedness.
As for the title, it will come into play later.
I am not familiar how the tags work exactly, but just to be careful the story will contain some explicit consensual sex scenes though some in the context of cheating, a child born out of an affair, and the death of two children, one presumably violent but happening off screen.
This story is written for my mind to vent a little and venture into a faraway place, and your comments about the writing style and the story over all will be much appreciated and needed just to get some self - esteem back and work on my weaknesses in writing.
As I am currently going through my exams and master thesis, I do not think there will be a consistent updating schedule but I will do my best not to disappear on long hiatus.
Finally, enough of me sounding so pathetic and needy, I hope you enjoy the prologue and the rest of the story!
