Chapter 1

“Deimos! When are the witches coming for the meet-” I say walking around a corner and seeing Jace standing in my foyer talking to an unknown guy.

“Jace? What are you doing here?” I ask putting a down the book I was carrying on a small table.

“I am here for a meeting with Deimos.” He says standing straight fixing his jacket.

“Oh. I didn’t realize you were on that invitation.” I say as Deimos walks in holding a small dark haired girl in his arms. I grab the giggling toddler and kiss her cheek. “Deimos seemed to have forgotten that small detail.”

Deimos rubs the back of his neck awkwardly and looks between us. “Yeah, sorry Anya. I didn’t know how to tell you.” Deimos has kept the mention of Jace to a bare minimum since I rejected him. Jace stares at my daughter in my arms and looks at me hurt and a Deimos a bit upset.

“Deimos, I am going to have Melinoe and Bo watch Cassie and then I will be in your office for the meeting.” I start to head up the stairs going to find my sister and when sirens start blaring. I quickly run to Bo’s office and throw Cassie at Melinoe and don't explain anything but I jump out the window and when I hit the ground my head looks up and I look side to side looking for the threat.

I can feel the ground shake and very loud crashing noise everywhere in the forest surrounding us. Suddenly I get a mind link from Deimos.

“Titans!” Deimos mind links quickly. "Trying to get through to the East. We have Eurus stationed at that tower." I take off running to the guard tower to the East. When I reach the large wall, towers and gate, I run up the steps taking them two at a time. I reach the top and I see Eurus, Artemis, Bo, and Deimos were on the catwalk in the middle looking below them at the ground.

When I looked over the wall I see 2 dead men, not men, young adults, almost children. 18 years old and their lives cut so short. In the dirt above their bodies was a note:

Titanomachy

Artemis' eyes were wide and Eurus was breathing kind of hard. Growing up my father tried to teach me the history of the Gods, so I kind of remember what Titanomachy was. It was a war between the Olympians and the Titans or Old Gods. My grandfather, Cronus was overthrown by my uncle Zeus and thus the rule of my father and uncles started.

I sprout my wings and drop down to the ground kneeling next to both the boys. I close my eyes and shake my head mad that two innocent young men had to die for no reason. I look up at Deimos as the gate doors open and a medical team runs out with two portable stretchers and takes the bodies to a medical room in the tower next to the gate. Deimos and Phobos join me down below before Deimos can pull me into a hug and I put my hand on his chest shaking my head.

"We need to call Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades. They will probably want to talk to the Titans who escaped children so lets start with a couple of their grandkids. Bo go talk to Eurus and see if he knows anything or if his parents know anything. I will talk to Artemis." I say adjusting my jacket looking at the two of them.

"I will go talk to Artemis. You go set up talking to The Big Three and make sure those boys have gone peacefully." Deimos says looking over to the tower where both should be. "Go be with Cassandra. Jace is still here too you should explain what is happening."

I nod and give him a quick kiss before running back to our version of a Pack House. A place everyone in our Olympian Community comes to be together. It was a 3 floor plantation style home that was white with red shutters and white columns. I walk into Deimos' office and I see Jace with three men sitting on the couch and chair.

"Jace, I am sorry about the events of this trip but we have lost two young men and an old time feud is coming back to light. We will have to reschedule." I say grabbing my cell phone trying to find my father's phone number. Jace stands up looks at me shocked.

"The Gods are feuding with someone that isn't anything new. I don't want my coven to get involved. This isn't our fight this is your deal." He says getting defensive. I look at him, like really look at him. Jace still has his blonde hair and still wears the leather biker jacket with dark jeans and boots. I can still see the same pain as before in his eyes and I shake my head.

"Jace, I didn't ask for your help and I am not going to entertain your childish temper tantrum. You're right I have more important things to worry about like young men in my community dying for a feud that NO ONE here started. This is another one of those results of our parents. Please leave my home and I will have my Husband call you to reschedule your talk." I say nodding towards the office door pressing the call button on my cell phone calling my father.

He answers on the second ring, "Anya I was about to call you! Titans have escaped from Tartarus! We tried to keep them from getting out but we couldn't. Cerberus- Cerberus did he best and in the end it failed. He got really hurt. Hygieia came and is caring for him now." My breath catches in my throat. First my community and now hurting my dog. These Titans were going to get what they deserved.

MaybeInACentury: This is probably the best book I've ever read in a really really long time. I couldn't stop once I started. Golden find. Though I do wish the story was written in present tense rather than in past tense, or had an epilogue about what is happening now, it is a masterpiece.
