Summary

In the small town of Ravenswood, where fog clings to the streets like a shroud and whispers of the past echo through the shadows, a killer known only as "The Raven" has left a trail of death in his wake. With a face concealed by a black mask resembling a raven's beak, he stalks the streets under the cloak of night, leaving behind a chilling legacy of terror. No one knows his true identity or his motives, but one thing is certain: wherever The Raven goes, death follows. Each victim is found with a single black feather, a sinister calling card left behind as a grim reminder of his presence in town. As fear grips the town, the population dwindles, until only a few remain. Among them is a young woman named Polina, whose strength and decisions have kept her alive against all odds. Haunted by loss and driven by survival, she roams the quiet and bare streets, always one step ahead of the relentless killer. One night, as Polina finds shelter in the abandoned church at the edge of town, she encounters The Raven himself. In the warm lit room, their eyes meet, and Polina senses something beneath the killer's cold exterior. Is there saving to be found in the heart of a killer, or is she merely dancing with death? Or will the tables turn, revealing she too is also a killer?

Introduction

In the years of the early 1900s, the mysterious figure known as “The Raven” comes up from the shadows, a problematic character involved with a haunted past. He was born into a world of harsh realities. Raven's childhood was scarred by the brutal acts of his father, a sinister power that planted a deep fear in him at a very young age. Paul Webster is the name of his father, and his mother was named Alita Webster.

It was the night before Christmas when his life changed for the worse. During Christmas Eve, the family sat around their small fireplace. They talked about their memories, their fears, and their futures. But something shut off in his father Paul's mind. His humanity shut off. His stare became blank. Paul was gone. Paul seemed like he had been possessed by something dark. Something dangerous. No one knows why he turned. He turned on his wife, brutally ending her life in seconds. The boy has been on the run ever since. He never looked back at his mother's body, or his father's face. His parents were both gone. The last thing that will forever stay in the boy's mind is his mother's screams. Her horrifying and pained screams.

As the boy matured, a growing anger within him led to tragic actions, causing harm to innocent lives. Despite his grievance, he hesitated to confront his father, accepting and recognizing the formidable power his parent held. If his father had turned on his wife, then there was a chance he'd turned on his son. The Raven had moved to a small town called “Ravenswood”.

In a community of fewer than seven hundred, the man emerged, selectively targeting individuals, predominantly males, yet sparing innocent children. The town's toll neared four hundred as a sense of fear grasped its residents, torn between looking for safety in their homes and risking exposure to the untouchable killer who preyed on those who ventured outside. In the aftermath of a chilling act in the dark alley, the haunting figure caught sight of the most alluring girl he had ever encountered, her sight weaving an unexpected thread of intrigue into the darkness that surrounded him. Her name was Polina. And she was just as dangerous as he and his father combined.
