Summary

Midoriya Izuku was four when his world came crashing down after he got diagnosed as quirkless. His dream of being a hero crushed at fourteen when his idol, the number one hero, the symbol of peace, tells him to give up. The same day his best friend-turned-bully and life long crush tells him to take a swan dive off the roof no less. That day changed his life, forever. Now sixteen, League of Villain member Kirai is captured along with his family, and forced to go to UA in a rehabilitation program. What happens when he is forced back into the life of the boy who hates him more than anything, and his ex best friend's boyfriend. Will they be able to move past their bad history, and become something more? This is KiriBakuDeku Villain Rehab AU. I do not own the characters used unless specified. All credit goes to Kohei Horikoshi as the creator of Boku no Hero Academia/ My Hero Academia. If you don't like the ships, don't read. Chapter One: Failure



“P-please! I have a wife and children! I beg you, don’t do this!” I smile and point my gun at the pathetic man.

“You should have thought of that before you sold us out.” I pull the trigger and ignore the bloodcurdling scream that fills the air. Toga skips up to me. “Can I drink his blood now?” I roll my eyes. “You don’t have to ask me,” She claps her hands and switches on her blood machine. I turn away and walk over to where Dabi and Shigaraki are quietly talking.

“So, what’s the plan now that we’ve got heroes on our tails?” They share a glance before Shigaraki says, “According to a tip we got from our little spy, the heroes are already on their way here.” I curse and call the rest of the league over.

”Come on, Izu, I barely got any blood.” Himiko whines at me. I grumble to myself silently at the nickname. “Himi, my name is Kirai. I don’t appreciate that you keep doing that. I know I only started using my villain name recently, but please try to remember.. And anyway, the heroes will be here any moment, and I would rather not be caught unprepared.” I pause and look back at the two older men, “What’s the plan?”

Dabi looks at Shigaraki before saying, “Kirai, you, Spinner, and I are back up. We’ll wait in here until Toga, Twice, and Shigaraki give the signal or things look bad.” Toga and I both give a nod. Abruptly, the sound of sirens fills the otherwise silent night. We all share a look before Toga walks over to the window. She lets out a gasp of surprise. “That’s a lot of heroes.” We all go to the window and peek out. “Shit. Yay!” Twice swears under his breath. I feel a cold sense of dread when I look to see what he means.

Twenty or so heroes gathered in front of the building. Behind them is a barricade of police officers, their guns trained on the door to the abandoned building. Police Chief Tsuragamae steps forward and speaks into a megaphone. “Come out, League of Villains! We have you surrounded!”

After a shared look, Toga, Shigaraki, and Twice walk out of the room. Dabi, Spinner, and I walked to the window, waiting for the signal. When the others walk out, I see almost everyone flinch. I can’t help but grin. Good, you should be afraid of us.

A few heroes step forward, but Shigaraki puts his hand up. “I suggest you leave before you get hurt.” The crowd shifts nervously. Tsuragamae says, “It’s over Shigaraki Tomura! There’s nowhere left to run! You can’t escape, so just come quietly.” Shigaraki laughs at this. “What makes you so sure?” With that, He raises his hand. The world is ablaze as Dabi blasts a hole in the wall. All eyes turn to the sudden brightness. We jump out of the hole, and I use a grappling hook to break my fall. When the smoke clears, I hear the sound of guns loading. A hero steps forward, and I recognize him as Eraser Head. Suddenly, Dabi’s flames sputter out. “Nice try, but do you honestly think you can win without your quirks?” I make eye contact with Toga, and she lunges toward the nearest hero. She doesn’t hesitate to thrust the blade into his arm. I see Toga look back at us proudly, and Eraserhead looks like he might be sick.

“Yes, I think we can,” She says before spinning the knife expertly between her fingers. “Who’s next?” Shigaraki laughs, looking at her with what a mix of pride and relief. “We are the League of Villains, and we don’t lose.”

The city block erupts into a full-out war zone as we fight to escape the heroes. They target Toga, Shigaraki, Twice, Spinner, and Dabi the most, ignoring me, like usual. I use the diversion of everyone fighting to go over to one of the cars sitting abandoned on the side of the road.

I pick the lock and quickly start setting up the device our weapons dealer made at Dabi’s request. I type in the passcode and return to where my comrades are fighting. I smile when Toga helps Twice take down a strong hero in one swift strike of one of her knives. Deciding that my help is needed elsewhere. I look around until I spot Dabi facing Eraserhead. I remove my gun from its holster and aim.

A shout momentarily draws my attention, and I look over to see Toga slump unconscious. “Toga!” Spinner takes a step forward before falling over as well. I look around to discover the source of what makes us lose consciousness. I find my answer when I see another hero.

Midnight, the R-rated hero, stands across from Twice Dabi and I. They both try to hold their breaths, but it’s too late. Both Twice and Dabi have already breathed in too much of the sleep-inducing chemicals. Dabi makes eye contact with me and mouths, “Give ’em hell.” His eyes flutter shut, and I catch him before he falls. I lay him down gently. I turn back to the heroes who have now surrounded me. “Kirai! There’s no escape! Just give in and come willingly.” Midnight says.

I smile, thankful that my mask has an air filter. “No, that isn’t my thing.” I shrug before skilfully masking when I activate the bombs with a fake itch. I also press my distress button, alerting Kurogiri of our location. I then grab one of my knives and spin it expertly between my fingers.


“Now, who wants to be maimed or possibly decapitated?” I ask in the most Himiko-like way I can muster. Eraserhead activates his quirk, and I let out a snort. “What good is using your quirk on me? Not like there’s anything to block.” I see his brow raise.

“You’re quirkless?” I snort.

“Well, duh.” I can see the effect it has on people. Almost all of them are a lot more confident than before. The only exceptions are Midnight and Eraserhead. They both share looks of pity. It makes me sick, and I decide they will die last to make them suffer more as they watch their comrades die. I don’t want your pity. I want your fear and respect. I want to shout. Instead, I hide my anger, forcing myself to keep a clear head.

“Now, this is getting pretty boring, so if you guys aren’t going to try to arrest me, I think I’ll take my comrades and leave.” One foolish hero steps forward. “Don’t worry, I will take down this quirkless menace alone. Stand back and allow me to do this simple task.” I fight to keep myself from laughing. “By all means,” I say, motioning him forward.

The ignorant hero struts forward like he’s about to win. He snaps and disappears. I shake my head and throw a dagger behind me, hearing a cry of pain. I turn around to see the overconfident hero on the ground, clutching his stomach.

“That’s what you get for underestimating me,” I say condescendingly. A faint whoosh of air alerts me of an oncoming attack, and I dodge Eraserhead’s capture weapon. “Look, kid. There’s no way you’re getting out of this. We’ve already taken down your friends.” He says, nodding to a couple of police cars, where I can see Toga, Shigaraki, Twice, and Dabi shoved into cars, quirk-canceling cuffs already around their wrists.

Come on, Kurogiri, what’s taking you so long? I look at my watch, noting the timer only has twelve seconds left. As I struggle to evade Eraser’s capture weapon, I silently pray that I can make it to those cars before the explosive goes off. When I’m mere feet away from Toga, the beeping in my headset makes my heart stop. When nothing happens, I falter in my movements, getting tangled in the hero’s capture weapon.

“Good job, Thirteen.” Midnight calls out, and I look back to the car I placed the explosive in, or rather, where it would be. Instead, all I see is a black hole. “Wh-what? How did you?” I stutter, realizing that I failed my team, no, my family. The hero shrugs. “We know that you usually sneak off in the middle of fights and that there’s always a diversion after, allowing you to escape. So, we just ensured we knew where you were at all times.” I try to fight the cloth wrapped around my body, but Eraser only tightens it.

“C’mon, kid. It’s time to give up. We’re taking you in. Kirai, you are under arrest for mass homicide, breaking and entering, grand theft auto, arson, and armed robbery. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to talk to a lawyer and have one present with you while you are being questioned. If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, one will be appointed to represent you before any questioning if you wish. You can decide at any time to exercise these rights and not answer any questions or make any statements. Do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you? Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to us now?” My throat feels dry as I croak out, “Y-yes.”

He nods, and I am released from his scarf as a pair of handcuffs gets snapped around my wrists.

I’ve failed them. I was supposed to save them. I was supposed to keep them safe.
