Prologue
Hello.
My name is Detective Bernard.
I have been hired by some bad people to find out who killed someone who isn’t bad but who the bad people care about.
They have told me that they will kill me if I cannot solve this mystery.
I have been on the case for a while now, and I fear that I will not succeed in solving it.
But I do not want to be killed, and so I must solve it!
Because of this, I will be bringing several other detectives in on this case, and hopefully they can save my life by helping me solve it.
The detectives who I am going to ask to assist me are named Yatra, Hal, and Milburn.
They are not super well-known, but they have solved some cases that were impressive ones to solve.
Also, they don’t exactly always play by the rules, and I’m going to need people who are willing to cut some corners on my side.
These 3 detectives are probably my last hope, and if they can’t help me solve this case then I’m probably doomed.
Man, I really wish that this “case” hadn’t come my way at all; but it is what it is, and I’m now in a position where failure is most certainly not an outcome that will bode well for me…
