Beware the Enigmatic Horrors of Thornwood Cottage!

"“Always trust your heart,” her Aunt Genevieve, otherwise known as the mysterious Lady of Thornwood Cottage, warns her. So why didn’t Isabella act on that advice? Instead Isabella willing accepts the responsibility that comes with inheriting the Thornwood Cottage from her aunt, trusting her wit and intuition to protect her from any sinister secrets the house may hold. But Isabella is not prepared for the hidden room she accidentally stumbles upon, equipped with a door carved with mystic runes. ‘A blood sacrifice must be made,’ the door instructs, ‘ …if you wish to enter.” Against her better judgment, Isabella slices her own palm and fills the carved words with her own dripping blood, trusting that the old adage, ‘Curiosity killed the Cat’ will not come true for her. This is a clever, foreboding tale with neat little expressions of terror that the horror lover in me craves. I’m still not sure what is behind the rune covered door, but you better believe I’ll keep reading to find out. A satisfying novel if you enjoy horror, like me. "
