Wrong room
At the hospital Adaline brought over a box of those model cars that you put together for Jonah he fixes them up then puts them on sites and sales them along with other things that he can fix while sitting in a hospital bed, “today you’re starting you’re new job are you nervous?” Jonah asked while opening the box she nods her head “yeah a little what if I'm not good enough or don't get the job?” He sigh’s “you’re amazing at designing clothes I’m sure you will pass with flying colors” then he looks at the clock on the wall “you better get going or you will be late” she looks at the clock “ok I’m leaving” he nods his head “good luck and let me know when you hear the news” he shouted as she walked out of the door.
While on the bus she is lost in thought “Jonah's treatment is almost over with and I can quit my job as sugar bear and work my dream job as a designer for clothes, purses, shoes and other things” she knows it takes a while for a designer to get established especially if they are new to a city she just needs to find the right job and the right clients then her career can happen, when she got off the bus she had to walk a mile to reach the company and as she is walking she opened her portfolio and went through her drawings to make sure she had everything.
When she got to the building she looks up and her eyes almost popped out of their socket because from her view it seems like the building is touching the sky she took a deep breath to calm her nerves “you can do this Addie” she gave herself a little pep talk while walking in, she walked to the front desk clerk “hello I’m here for a in” she didn’t get to finish what she was going to say when the front desk clerk interrupted her “15th floor and its the last door on the right” taken back Adaline thought it was rude but then again there has probably been a lot of people that came for the interview.
She got on the elevator and hit 15 while her nerves are trembling on the inside then she began to give herself another pep talk “it doesn’t matter that you’re just 19 with no work experience you’re talent will outshine the other ones” she said to herself, when the elevator dings and the doors began to open she took another deep breath and stepped out of the elevator and began walking towards the direction the front desk clerk gave her.
When Adaline got to the door she noticed that it’s open and it’s also full of woman who is dressed in short skirts high heels and some of their breast looks like they will fall out of their shirts when they bend over or half looks like they are going to burst through their shirts, they also have a lot of makeup on and the smell of their perfumes are mixing together and it’s making it hard to breath in this little room Adaline lowered her head and hid in the back.
Garrison Downer who is the CEO is in another room regretting walking into that room that is probably full of woman this is the 3rd round and he still hasn’t found a girl that suits his taste, Nick comes walking in who is his best friend from college and now his assistant “are you ready man?” He asked with a grin he had already seen some of the girls and knows this round of girls won’t pass either. Garrison isn’t like most men he prefers girls to be their self's and not wear clothes that leaves nothing to the imagination “I would rather have a boy at this point” Garrison grumbled under his breath Nick laughs “well you need a girl for this job” Garrison looks at him “and who’s rule is that?” Nick laughs while pulling him out of the door “lets get this over with so you can send some girls home crying.”
In the room the girl straighten up when they hear footsteps coming and it wasn’t long until 6’6 man with black hair who has a short beard with a mustache and green eyes, Garrison is 26 years old and the company was passed down to him from his uncle because his dad didn’t want the responsibility which Garrison is happy about it because he worked his first job here as his uncles assistant so he knows how this company works.
“O my god he is so handsome” Adaline heard the girls whispering “I bet he has a nice body underneath that suit too” another one whispered in a happy tone, Garrison sat down and Nick cleared his throat “Mr Downer has requirements for his personal assistant” hearing that Adaline's eyes widen “o no the front desk clerk lead me in the wrong direction” she said to herself she looks at the door and noticed it’s still open then she looked in front of her “these girls are tall with their high heels maybe I can sneak towards the door and rush out of it without even being seen” she thought to herself.
While Nick is talking with the girls Garrison is looking over them when something moving in the back caught his attention he furrowed his brows “what's going on?” After thinking that a 5’3 girl stepped out who is wearing a pencil skirt just a little above her knees and she is wearing flats and her dress shirt unlike the other has her covered she has strawberry blonde hair that is pulled up in a ponytail unlike the myth with redheads she doesn’t have freckles and her eye color is in between a light blue and grey, Garrison see’s that she is almost out of the door “where are you going?” He asked making Adaline freeze in her spot Nick stopped talking and looks towards the door and from the back of the girl Nick can tell that is the girl Garrison will choose.
Adaline turned around her face is red with embarrassment “I…I came to the wrong room” hearing that both Nick and Garrison frowned while some of the girls giggled “what a looser” one of them said a little to loud hearing that both Nick and Garrison look at her “you’re service isn’t needed here goodbye” Garrison said to the girl who just said that, the girl looks at Garrison in disbelief with her eyes red “M…Mr Downer I’m” she didn’t get to finish when garrison waved his hand “I will not put up with people picking on other people in my company that could have easily been you now get out of here” the girl ran out of the door in tears but on her way out she took her shoulder and bumped into Adaline knocking her down Nick went to catch her but Garrison beat him to it.
Adaline who is bracing herself for the hard landing ended up being pressed against a hard chest and the smell of cologne drifted in her nose she enjoyed the smell of that cologne so she didn’t move for a second “Addie wake up” her internal voice told her and that's when she remembered she is being held, snapping back to reality she pulled herself away from the mans chest and looked up to see Garrison looking down at her “o no big boss” she said to herself while her face turned even redder.
Garrison cleared his throat while walking back to the table “if you’re not here to be my personal assistant what are you here for? And how did you get lost?” he had to ask “designer sir and the front desk clerk told me to come here” that's when Garrison remembered that the design department is also holding interviews today then he wondered why the front desk clerk which is his cousin told her to come here, “did you tell her what you’re here to interview for?” He asked she nods here head “she wouldn’t let me finish what I was saying before she told me to come here” she admitted.
Garrison tapped his fingers on the table “this girl suits my taste but she’s not here to interview for my personal assistant should I talk her into being my personal assistant?” He wondered to himself before he could say anything “5th floor and it’s the first door on the left” Nick said “thank you” Adaline said then bolted out of the door, Nick looks down at Garrison who is giving him the death glare “what?” He asked Garrison shook his head “nothing call down to the design department and tell them that a girl is coming to their interview late because she was sent to the wrong room” Nick nods his head and took out his phone.
In the elevator Adaline sunk down to the floor then took her portfolio and smacked it on her head “what a day already, I was sent to the wrong room and made a fool of myself by lingering onto the big boss” she smacked her head again “I hope in the next room that it goes right” she said to herself, Garrison laid the papers down “Sarah step out” when the girl steps out Garrison is at least glad that the girl he chose is wearing the most clothes “you’re hired” he said Sarah smiles and almost jumps up “thank you Mr Downer” he stood up and walked towards the door “go down to the HR department fill you’re paperwork out and you can start tomorrow” he said walking out of the door.
Later at the hospital Adaline is telling Jonah everything that happened to her today and he had to quit working on his model car because he is laughing so hard his hands are shaking “at least the big boss seems like a decent human being he could have thrown you out of his company” she nods her head “I’m at least grateful for that” Jonah picks up a tool “did you at least get the job?” she shakes her head “I’m waiting for that phone call.”
