Bad Luck In Celestoria

It’s 2030. Earth is destroyed, I walk through the streets and the only thing I see are buildings destroyed into dust and burning in red flames, the sky is a fiery red. I can smell the smoke coming from the crashed cars, from the broken buildings! I fall to my knees deciding to give up, feeling helpless! But it’s no time to give up, I can’t give up. I have to find a solution. ‘’I have to get out of here!’’

I walked to my lab hopeless. I walk down the stairs to the basement to see the remaining survivors and my friends.

‘’So, is it safe?’’ My friend Rachel said.

‘’ No. I should’ve done something everything is ruined!’’ I say pounding my fists on the supply table.

‘’Great … ‘’. Rachel sighed. ’’We’re losing supplies, Jonathan, we have to go somewhere else and fast.’’

An idea popped into my head ‘’ I think I have something we can do to escape! But it’s very risky,’’ I said.

‘’Anything will help Jonathan’’ Rachel said.

Fine I guess, follow me.’’ I said while walking to a locked door in my lab. I unlocked the door and got Rachel and my friend Oliver in. ‘’I have been working on this since a while back. I never thought I would even think of using this until today. I just hope nothing goes wrong with it. Because I didn’t quite test it yet… It’s an unfinished project. ’’ I said standing in front of a huge rocket.

I could see Rachel’s face go from surprised to worried. ‘’Hold on just one minute, that’s cool and everything but WHAT DID YOU MEAN BY YOU DIDN’T TEST IT ?! You want us to escape in that and you didn’t even test it! And why are we going to escape to another planet! ’’ Rachel shouted.

‘’I’ll test it don’t worry, and Earth is all destroyed the only thing we can do is escape to another planet, and besides you didn’t have to shout!’’ I said.

’’That’s so cool dude but why didn’t you tell us about this? We’re scientists too you know!’’Oliver said.

‘’It was just a side project I didn’t think it was that important, and I didn’t think we would use it anytime sooner,’’ I said.

‘’A rocket is a side project! and not important! Are you serious?’’ Oliver said.

‘’Okay I’m sorry, you can help me right now by telling the others to get ready, and help get supplies, can you do that?’’ I said.

‘’Wait were escaping right now?!’’ Rachel exclaimed.

‘’Yes I’ll do a few fixes in the rocket and finish it and we’ll escape as soon as possible! I don’t want to be here anymore.’’ I said.

Suddenly We hear something out our door. BANG! Someone was trying to break the door open!! Rachel pulls out a pistol from her pocket while Oliver goes and takes a bat for protection.

‘’Someone please let me in, they’re behind me!’’ A woman’s voice said in a loud whisper.

Rachel opened the door while still holding the pistol. A woman with hazel-like hair, and frightened blue eyes walked in and Rachel closed the door behind her as fast as she could. The girl had scratches on her face and hand like she was escaping something.

‘’I can’t believe there are other humans alive here other than me, and a lot of them too!’’ She peeks to the main base to see the other survivors that we saved. ‘’Uhh, can I stay with you guys here, I promise I’ll help with anything you guys want.’’ She says.

I shift a look to Rachel and Oliver and Then Rachel asks her ‘’Who are you? And where were you? We went looking for survivors and there weren’t any left.’’

‘’Oh I made a hidden camp alone but they found me and attacked me and ruined everything I had, so I went to look for another area to hide in. While I was hiding I saw someone getting in this base, maybe it was one of the people here so I wanted to take a look and ask for your help, I’m alone and they have taken everyone I loved, can you please just let me stay.’’ She said.

‘’Okay… I guess, we’ll believe you. What’s your name?’’ Rachel asks kindly.

‘’Uhh, my name i-is Emma yes Emma, nice to meet you all!’’ Emma says.

I whispered to Rachel ‘’ Are you sure she’s innocent I feel like she’s manipulating us, and she looks familiar to someone I know but I can’t really get my hands on who she looks like.

‘’Yes Jonathan, but see how sad she is I feel like she has a kind heart besides we’re not going to leave her or something.’’ Rachel whispered back.

‘’OK Well, Emma, welcome to the team, I hope you’re good at fighting.’’ I said.

‘’Who ME?! yes, I’m amazing at fighting… W-why are you asking tho..?’’ She said nervously.

‘’We are escaping to a whole new planet. By a rocket I built, I know it’s dangerous and weird but we have no other choice. so this journey isn’t for the weak.’’ I said.

‘’What?!’’ She cried.

‘’Better get ready it’s going to be a long trip,’’ Rachel says while packing a mini bag full of supplies that we collected.

Emma stands there stunned to even speak while we get all of our supplies. I take a water bottle, some snacks, and food like chips and canned beans and other stuff like a flashlight, ropes, and some remaining clothes that didn’t burn in the fire.

’’Oh by the way Jonathan I forgot to ask you. Did you prepare any cautions in that ‘’other planet’’ I mean we won’t just go here and be able to breathe normally or something right?’’ Rachel asked.

‘’You think I can forget something like that?’’ I say lifting my eyebrows and pointing her to a safety helmet and an oxygen tank.

‘’Yeah you’re forgetful enough to make that mistake, but I must say I’m impressed you remembered.’’ She said.

‘’I would argue with you right now but we have more important things to do,’’ I said.

Everyone is done packing and preparing themselves and the only thing left to do is to get into the rocket and fly off. Maybe we’ll escape this nightmare...…
