All he wanted was his father’s approval.
He did many evil deeds to please his father; blackmailing, fake evidence of adultery, framing enemies for crimes, taking out huge loans under other peoples’ names, you name it.
Did he ever get his father's approval? No.
Instead, when his father was caught doing illegal trade, all the blame was shifted onto him and he died for his father’s actions.
He lived to only be 20 years old.
But life wasn’t done with him yet.
He woke up in his bed. Realizing that he had gone back in time to when he was 18, he swore to himself that he’d make his own path and not blindly follow his father anymore.
However, his main goal was to correct all the evil deeds he had done.

Why? Why is this happening to me? Why did father betray me?
After all I did for him, I helped him rise to the rank of Archduke.
And this is what I get as thanks?
Such a thankless job my life was. And to think I was naive enough to believe father might appreciate me if I proved to be useful to him.
But no, all he cares about is that useless fatty oaf I’m forced to call my brother. What is he good at other than eating? He has no talent, no purpose other than eating all the leftover remnants of each meal.
What a cruel reality this is.
Guess I had to wake up from my fantasies someday.
“Bring the criminal forward!” The guards threw me forward onto the cold stone stairs leading up to my death bed. Thousands of people crowded nearby, eager to see my decapitated head fall to the ground.
What a worthless life I’ve lived. If there was one thing I could do, it would be to reverse all the damage I had done to other families.
A strange sense of excitement flooded through me when I made eye contact with him. The one I had hurt the most. Put his family into debt, framed his father for murder, made his mother commit suicide, and demoted him and his sister to mere beggars.
Hatred burned fierce in his eyes. His once handsome face now a bit haggard and thin.
I didn’t see his sister anywhere.
“Put your head here,” the executioner shoved my head down. He raised his axe in the air and swung it, cutting the rope. The giant blade of the guillotine slammed down.
I couldn’t feel my lower body anymore. My neck must be broken.
The blade was pulled up again, and fell a second time.
The last thing I saw were those eyes filled with hatred.
