A breath of fresh air
"Excellent world-building (that I hope will be explored in the following book), great pace, rich array of characters, an imaginative story. Honestly, this book just goes to show that there is more to life than the Romantasy and Dark Romance that plague the literary landscape nowadays, and that there are bright, talented writers who can create beyond that. If agents and publishing houses fail to see it, it's their loss, really. For me, what sold this book was the blending of sci-fi with a historical setting. While not groundbreaking in itself, it is a breath of fresh air that I gladly took in. The concept of two overpowered rival families (à la Romeo and Juliet) is a nice touch, to help keep this world's balance in check. The writing style is clear and fluid and it i's an absolute pleasure to just click "next chapter". I'm really excited for book 2. :)"
