Great story
"I like how this story involves both friendship and romance. It's a very interesting plot too, though I'm not exactly one for stories with a lot of drama involving the love interest being with someone else at first and all that, depending on the kind of story it is sometimes haha. But for anyone who's into that kind of thing, this is a perfect story for that. My favorite characters are Sweety and Nik. Vivek was pretty much annoying for the whole story until he finally realized and expressed his love for Sweety haha. I love Sweety's personality so much!! And Nik is an amazing friend and an amazing person, I would date someone like him immediately hehe. Nik honestly is so loyal and caring that I'd wanna be his girlfriend lol. I'm happy everything worked out in the end and Vivek realized his love for Sweety. And I also thought it was cool how you put the english translations for the Indian words after the chapters, it was fun learning what they meant. Great story overall."
I love it very much especially Nik friendship
"The friendship of Nik is the most lovable thing"
Quite Lovely!
"Love, love, love sweety! Reading this story makes me root for the female character so much. Usually reading a Young Adult books make me want to ship her with any guy I find her matching but in this story I just want Sweety to be happy. Our sweety is the male FL here, raised in a household with horrible mother and even more horrible sister, Sapna. But thank goodness, she has amazing job and tons of best friends around her. I love her relationship with her friends so much, especially Jaz and Nic XD These two are like bodyguards for her, protecting her and supporting her despite everything which I love <3 But I cant see them as the ML haha, I hope my guess is right and the ML is Vivek 💕 💕 I have read five chapters so far and its quite lovely and entertaining, lots of tender heart moments especially every time Sweety tries to stand up to herself as well as everytime her friends protect her. Though I am dying for more Vivek x Sweety's banter, I hope there will be more of them in the future :) I apologize to the author for reviewing this so long due to personal reasons, I haven't been able to read that thoroughly and I want to give the book justice XD So far very enjoyable read. Well done Zee!^^"
Amazing story
"This story was really good. Especially I liked Sweety's transformation. She was a shy and timid girl who was constantly bullied by her elder sister Sapna and even her own mother compared her with Sapna and over shadowed by her. It was a really toxic relationship and it really affected her self esteem too. But later with the help of her friends she transform into a bold character. Moreover she had a crush on her best friend's elder brother Vivek since childhood. But he always thought of her as a lost puppy and a silly girl. But in this story seeing her transformation he falls for her hard. "
This book....
" It has it all. Jealousy, hearbreak, funny moments and more. What I also love/like is that at the end of every chapter the author explains what the different words means in english (think the words are from somewhere in Asia)..The chapters are not to short or to long.. So in all, a good book to binge read over the weekend.. "
Review Of A Sense of Belonging
""Sweety's story is a heartfelt and relatable journey of self-discovery and unrequited love. Always overshadowed by her beautiful and elegant sister Sapna, Sweety finds solace in her friends, who are her true family. Her lifelong love for Vivek, her best friend's elder brother, takes a surprising turn when he unexpectedly kisses her, only to get engaged to Sapna soon after. This emotional tale explores Sweety's struggle with heartbreak, her search for self-worth, and the courage to confront her feelings. It's a captivating read that delves into themes of love, family, and personal growth.""
A sweet main character with a sour family.
"I really enjoyed the name Sweety for the main character. It’s unique and perfectly captures the character’s personality. The author does an amazing job with the characters’ dialogue and emphasizes the strong friendship the main character has with her close friends. One of my favorite characters is Jaz. I think many other readers would agree that Jaz is beloved because of his positive personality. His supportive nature for Sweety really shows his character. He seems to be polar opposite from Vivek, who’s the other male main lead in the story. At this point, Vivek appears as the antagonist, along with Sweety’s sister Sapna. As much as readers dislike them, they really do play an important part in the plot, which I secretly enjoy. If you’re looking for a story with drama this is definitely it. Overall, this story has a unique culture and great character dialogue that leaves me hooked for more! "
Some Sweets for the Sweet?
"Beautiful and bubbly Sweety has always been overshadowed by her much more sophisticated, older sister Sapna. Where Sweety’s hair is thick and unruly, Sapna’s strands lies flat and straight on her head. Sweety loves to talk and giggle with friends, but Sapna prefers quietness and solitude. Most annoying of all, men love to surround Sapna and worship her beauty while hardly giving Sweety a single glance. Isn’t she as worthy of having a boyfriend just like Sapna? On the evening before her best friend’s wedding, Sweety hears groans coming from the library. Inside lies Vivek, cool and handsome and very, very drunk. He is angry that his sister is marrying someone he considers beneath the family. Sweety is quick to defend her best friend. It’s not as if Vivek is such a worthy prize. With that Vivek presses his warm, sensual lips to hers, Sweety does not fight him, but gives into their shared passion, grasping the back of his head and molding her body to his. After a few moments Vivek breaks the kiss and shoves Sweety angrily away. “Silly little girl!” he calls her. Or perhaps the real reason is that Vivek is not used to feeling so enthralled in another woman’s arms. A kiss is just a kiss after all. Or could it be the beginning of something more? An interesting novel. I’m not too familiar with India culture, so I might have gotten a few things wrong. I think the families are wealthy both Sweety’s and Pragiti’s. This story reminded me a little bit of Cinderella too, with the way Sweety serves Pragiti, though Pragiti is very kind to Sweety, unlike the mean step sisters from the fairy tale. Let’s hope Vivek ends up being more of a Prince than a jerk. "
Bollywood Bliss: A Review of [A sense of belonging]
"Immersing myself in the vibrant world of Bollywood has always been a joy, and this story, despite having only a few chapters, immediately captured my heart. Sweety, our endearing protagonist, radiates warmth and kindness, yet finds herself entangled in the unnecessary drama orchestrated by her own family. Vivek's character presents a fascinating enigma, his apparent jealousy towards Sweety's interactions with Jaz adding an intriguing layer to the narrative. The potential love triangle brewing between Sweety, Vivek, and Jaz sparks anticipation and speculation, with #sweetyandjaz emerging as my favourite ship. Navigating Sweety's expansive circle of friends may initially prove challenging to read, yet the depth of their relationships becomes increasingly rewarding with each turn of the page. Despite my usual preference for more intricate plots, the straightforward nature of this story proves to be its strength, allowing the beauty of the writing style to shine through. In summary, this book is a delightful escape into the world of Bollywood, filled with engaging characters and a captivating plot that keeps readers hooked from start and I hope it will till finish."
