Chapter 1

I enter the Dirty Robber ordering a cup of coffee. Harry the owner tells me it is a dollar. " Ah shit Harry let me pay you later. I'm undercover and its cold outside. I just need something to warm me up." 0Harry tells me no money no coffee. "Come on Harry , you know I am good for it.The money is in my lock upstairs." Harry puts the coffee back down for the next customer to order it. " I will pay for it. It's only a dollar. She looks likes she needs it." She is looking at me like I piece of garbage. I know dressed up like a prositute isn't so pleasing for this lady who is wearing designer clothes. Her total outfit could pay my bills for a month. " No that is okay! He's just being his normal jerk of an ass." "I really don't mind." This lady pays and I thank her. I go upstairs to finish my coffee. She stays. As I get to my desk, my captain tells me to go downstairs to meet the new coroner. I really rather not before i shower and change into something more decent. My feet are killing me in these high heels. I go downstairs as instructed by my captain. I take the elevator sipping my coffee. I exit the elevator and walk to the office on whom I am to meet. She is bending over. I say excuse me. She turns around. I couldn't believe it is the same beautiful lady. "Hi , I am detective Jane Rizzoli of the homicide division. My captain asked me to come down here to meet the new coroner." " Jane I am so sorry to mistake you for a hooker. Please forgive me. My name is Dr. Maura Isles. I am the chief forensics medical examiner. " It's okay. I understand how I look.Anyone who doesn't know me would think I am prostitute. I am working on a case of someone killing prostitutes in our fine city. " We talk a little bit. I ask her questions about the recent corpse that came in this morning. She tells me she finished the autopsy and a some type of metal rope like was used to choke her and cut off her breathing which made her die. We go over all the forensics information she and her colleagues have written about. I tell her goodbye after she tells me she is new to Boston. I go back up stairs finishing my coffee before I take a shower and get ready to leave for home.
